The Los Angeles Film School This school made promises of helping the students get a job after graduation Hollywood, California

I had attended this school in March of '09. I was very skeptical because of how much the tuition is and how much in loans it would take to pay it. A sales rep told me that they would help me find work so that I can pay off my huge debt. I applied for loans & they had set me up with both Sallie Mae & Chase, Chase is another ripp off because their interest is $17/day and they basically want to keep you as a customer aka SLAVE so you can keep paying on your debt and never will see any changes with your payments. Anyway, this school hires instructors that have little to no experience in the film industry and some were former students and current students themselves. The classrooms were freezing cold. The urinals were always broken and stinking and overflowing. I was in midterms and they had pulled me out of class to tell me that they had stopped taking loans from my bank. I asked why and the response that I had gotten was "I don't know!" They wanted me to apply for more loans with a different bank, but with my bad credit and even with a co-signer I couldn't do it. So then I had to drop out. I really hated how much the instructors who would always complain about how terrible student films are. It really annoyed me that they told us that for our thesis film and our short film in the 2nd month could be no longer than 10 minutes. That's another thing, in the 2nd month they want you to make a short film with "real" actors and before then you don't really get any teaching on how to direct them. When we did mine, our actors got really pissed with the director and producers and they were yelling and screaming because nobody knew how to direct them. There was this one instructor who I was in script writing class with and she was really negative! Always talking about how bad students films are and how much she hated them and just an overall negative person. Me and some other guys would joke that we wanted to have angry sex with her, lol!!! LAFS didn't help me find a job so I ended up going back to doing what I had done prior and I'm $60 grand in debt with the majority of my income going to pay on my debts. I'm amazed that there wasn't any other rip off reports up here. There's a class action lawsuit on them, that seems like it's not going anywhere's. Don't go to this school thinking that you're going to direct Tom Cruise or anybody else like that or even that someone is going to give you $200 million for you to make a film. I know that I can't speak for everyone, but my experience with this school was a really bad one. Don't even get me started on the liberals and Democrats that go here and become forceful with their beliefs and stuff!!! This school did more than just ruin my credit, it ruined my life!!! If you're really interested in working in the film biz, take classes at a community college because all you're really eligible for after graduation is working as a PA or a gaffer or a prop master. But to be a producer, Director, or writer this isn't the place to go to.
