Tina Rodrick or Mark Allen will call saying that they are a "Lead Producer" for a PBS TV show with a famous host such as Joan Lunden. Joan Lunden has nothing to do with these people, and PBS has put a warning on their website that this is a scam! They say you'll get publicity on national TV, that you'll get a DVD to use as marketing. You'll get neither. Run away from them! Here is an e-mail I got from PBS about them: ---- Thank you for contacting PBS. You are correct- these people are in NO WAY affiliated with PBS. This is a recurring problem that we have posted a notice about on our website's FAQ's. They are very careful to mention "public television" or "PBS stations", knowing that most people will assume they are affiliated with PBS. This is not the case. We have absolutely no connection to these people. PBS wishes to clarify that it is not associated with and does not endorse, distribute programming for, review underwriting for or otherwise have any business relationship with the following production companies: American Artists Television, American Review TV, Business Break TV, Business Trends, Eco Planet TV, Event Media TV, Evergreen Entertainment, Family Television Studios, Food For Thought TV, Giving Back, Global Television Studios, Great America (with Hugh Downs), Healthy Path, Heroes of Hope, Infinity Media Group, Insights, The Journal (with Joan Lunden), Paradigm Media Group, Platinum Group, PMG, PMGTV, Roadshow Productions, United Media Communications Group, Vision Media, Vision Media Television, VM Television, VT Media, VT Media Productions, or World Progress Report (with Joan Lunden). PBS does not oversee the production or distribution of any programs associated with any of these companies. In addition, PBS is not a production entity; we do not assist in the direct production of programs. We acquire previously completed programming or enter into production agreements with a variety of independent producers, and we only work with experienced production entities. Thank you for contacting PBS about this issue. Our lawyers are currently aware of the issue. Sincerely, Penelope PBS Audience Services

I just got this call from Tina Riley, the producer of The Journal TV show, hosted by Joan Lunden. She said they are doing a piece on anti aging and would like to interview the owner of our company regarding our product Mdrive (daily supplement for men). She said to call her back at 561-353-9066 x 295.
Hopefully this info may help others to not fall for this scam : ) |

A lady named Tina Riley called our medical office today asking to speak with the owner by name saying that she was the TV producer for The Journal with Joan Lunden because she was doing a piece on Addiction Medicine. She left the phone number (561)353-9066 x 295 for a return call. Naturally I googled her and found this site stating this call was a SCAM! Thanks for the previous posts regarding this sorry individual. |

I have been contacted by Lorraine Miles, TV Producer for The Journal hosted by Joan Lunden offering me an opportunity for our association to be featured in a 3 - 5 minute segment following a new program (The Future of Agriculture) that will be aired nationally over the next year on all PBS stations reaching more than 60 million households, plus a 1 minute segment that will air 400 times on major news and cable channels (including HGTV, Lifetime, History Channel), and a 6 minute piece that will be included in a email blast to more than 1 millions email addresses. All we pay for is the production cost of $22, 900 plus up to $3, 500 travel costs for the filming crew. Sound to good to be true? Obviously so. I am glad I did some research before she called me back today! I am annoyed however that I fell for it and spent several hours of my time calling board members for approval and contacting industry members to sponsor the cost. How do they get by with this? I don't understand why PBS, Joan Lunden, or someone hasn't put and end to this scam? |
