I purchased my Camaro SS for 35K. It had just under 6K miles. I had Davis Chevrolet, a reputable dealer, inspect the car and they gave it a clean bill of health. Now, I put it in for service at 21,000 miles and got a call to say that my tires (Pirelli's) have less than 2/32 of tread. I also found that they installed an aftermarket bumper kit both rear and front. Several body shops have noted that these were put on incorrectly, using double sided tape instead of fasteners. I replaced the back bumper for 2K. The same amount will be required for the front. Tires will be $1500.00. In fairness, I called Texas Direct and the customer service agent told me that they were required to put tires that will pass inspection only. She also said that given I had driven the car 15K miles, I was doing good! I laughed and she was offended. "Are you seriously telling me that a car with 20,000 purchased from you for the price I paid should need new tires already?" She said it was "different for each individual" but stood her shaky ground. My feeling is simple, don't bother EVER buying from them. The aftermarket work was done by them and just to add another issue, the trim lighting along the dash went out last week. The dealer said it was an aftermarket install. Bottom line, not one single thing they did except to put on a Hurst shifter lasted a year or was installed poorly.
