Wednesday September 7, 2011 at 5:30 pm Chicago time FBI Huston Texas (Harris County), My name is Thomas XXXXX and I just came across a scam where someone down there is scouring craigslist for people desperate for a car. Here is how the approached me this morning. This is the first email to me from a person calling them selves Renee Darian is the first key actor proposing to be dying of cancer and wanting to simply give me the car. Then comes Terrysa Leteff, the supposed Christan-Kingdom shipping company asking for $350. Your Renee Darian my actually be a Jennifer Huston famed to scams in Pasadena as posted on... Ripoff Report.com who has assisted the FBI before. Attached are the photos of the vehicle they are using. Here is the approach. Buy the way I have all these emails. The red indicates breaks between each email exchange. How could you know. I am struggling for my life up here and have lost just about everything, and potentially my home and have been looking for a job since February of 2009. And, I feel like I am going under. The car would be used to live. To go to job interviews, to get freelance work and to get food. The basics. I am a 61 year old male, forcefully retired by this economy and pushed to the brink. I feel like I am always on the edge of disaster and the car issue is a huge component of being able to move forward. Only, one problem. I am in Chicago and your in Pasadena, Texas. I just receive a message from them,they said it would cost you $350 for shipment,please let me know as soon as you get the car. Then I began doing some online research and ran the vin and no I really became concerned and began to ask the Shipping company some questions. It has been quiet since them... Renee Darrin I would be making payment via Wire Transfer through Western Union money transfer. Please provide the name of the organization as it is listened on the Western Union account, address, and phone and other particulars they want on the Western Union Money transfer form. I did not see the information on our website. So I tried calling you at the number you listed in your email below and no one answered. When I called again it said that the Sprint customer was not available. Evidently a concern when trying to conduct a transaction and know precisely that I will not not have problems registering it in Illinois and obtaining clear title. It then read that she had a 1999 Acura Integra, mileage: 180,908 Exterior color: Green Interior: Tan leather seats, trans:auromatic, drive train: front wheel drive, Engine: 1.8l I-4pfi options: heating&airconditioning,, factory rims, cd player, cruise control dual air bags,power lock doors,alarm, and sunroof Vin#JH4DB766XXSOO3873, clean title, carfax report. The car is running well, and no mechanical problems. Pictures are attached... Then the next day, I recieved a message from her that said, she was in a sick bed, and had breast cancer and only had 2 months to live, & said the car is at an Auto car shipping company in Pasadena, Tx. She said if I can"t pick it up, email them at [email protected] or call (716) 794-6051 for shipment. I called the number, and got a fast busy signal, It was not a working number. I continually asked her to call me, or leave me her number....I trusted, and hoped it was real, I wrote her about my personal life, and really believed this woman was dying! I prayed for her, I thought she was some kind of angel, sent from above, and we were blessed to recieve a car in our time of need. I am a single mom of a 3 yr old daughter, I have health issues, and am disabled, so I really counted on this being true. I got online yesterday, and tried to find the auto shipper in Pasadena, Tx. and instead I came upon her name, and the article, about Jennifer Hudson! OMG! I was shocked to see the same exact messages, word for word! She is not aware that I have busted her yet... Today"s message read : The company emailed me about you, and your car will be shipped. I don"t know what can be done, if anyrhing ... Im hoping since she is in the middle of a scam, maybe something can be done to catch her... Please give me any advice or help, to stop this woman, It is so sad, and wrong, on so many levels, to say she is dying of breat cancer, is just horrible, there are too many people in tbe world, who truly are sick, and dying, to make a mockary of the terminally ill is just plain evil, & so sad! So Beware of a free car donation scam! And always think... If it seems to good to be true, It usually is! So what laws are the breaking... First off they are possibly selling troubled cars (i.e. Stollen, did not pass emmission tests, shipping to other states.
Posing as a person dying of cancer Using the Christan-Kingdom handle as the shipping company, probably not registers or certified. Using Western Union wire transfers And a host of other completely unethical tactics to dup consumers and do whatever else they are doing. Conclusion... You will have to move fast. Check the names of these people, etc. You know best. I have the emails and I don’t have $350 to send them and am stalling... Seeing if they respond. I think you will have to go to the location if they exist or call this person in. Your the professionals. I am just here giving you the information in hopes you can catch them. Respectfully, |
