Target Department Store and PayPal Target refuses refunds...only |
21st of Dec, 2011 by User701388 |
In November I purchased a desk, hutch top, and filing cabinet from Target.com....total...about $275.00. I paid for the merchandise via my PayPal account which is is linked to my checking account. Once I received the items I decided the hutch and the filing cabinet were going to make the area I had to place them too crowded. I checked and it said I could return the items to the local store....that's when the problems began. I took the items to the local store and they stated they could return them...the items had NEVER been opened. They took the items and the packing slip which they had me remove from the cartons...and did "the return"....they then proceeded to hand me a "gift card". When I asked about it they stated they could not return to PayPal....it was a gift card or nothing!.....I tried to reason and that didn't work...it's their "policy"...so I went home and called PayPal....after explaining to the agent she stated she would institute a "dispute" ...but then escalated it to a "claim" stating that after 10 days if Target didn't respond the case would be found in my favor and my money refunded.....I want to remind you I had explained EXACTLY what happened when I returned the items to Target. So....10 days pass and I call PayPal and explain the situation to the agent again...he reads the notes and states he will email the store and once the manager confirms the items were returned they will credit my PayPal account and I can then ask for a "payout" and have the funds returned to my debit card...He further states he's going to expedite this and the entire matter will be concluded within 24 hrs.....OK....so I WAIT!....On hour 26 I call PayPal and speak with an agent again...he reads the notes and says he doesn't know why the agent told me what he did that Target's policy is if you pay with PayPal and return you can ONLY receive a "gift card". I question why they would do business with a company whose return policy is unfair to the consumer he states it's policy and PayPal is ONLY a "paying agent". BRIGHT SIDE!...I happened to remember a segment on the Today show dealing with sites that buy "gift cards". So.....I go to "giftcardgranny.com" read about the options and choose "giftcard.com"...read about them and their procedures, policies, ect. I then called them and spoke with an agent who advised me how to go about selling my card ( I wasn't sure about PIN). I have sold the card to them ...or the card info. You have the option of mailing in the plastic card or entering the card number and pin....that just seemed safer and faster. I sold the card for 91% of it's face value and I will be mailed a check once they verify the amount and validity of the card. You also have the option of receiving a MONEYGRAM but, it costs a little more. It's better than walking around with a "gift card" for $166.00 and a way to recoup my cash! And I have cancelled my account with PayPal! For those of you out there who have had the same problem...try the selling method...on ebay you might even be able to get full price! BOTTOM LINE......we need to BOYCOTT TARGET and PAYPAL! A wise man once said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result!" STOP THE INSANITY!!! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzana!!! and a VERRY Happy New Year! |
