WOULD YOU LIKE BEING TREATED AS A FOREIGNER IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY ?
Maybe it is just me, but when you are now treated like a second class citizen in your own country by a Health Care Center that seems to cater to the Spanish Community rather than be treated as a " patient" it gives one the feeling of .. mira.. you speak Spanish.. you get preferences".
I have seen other patients who do not speak Spanish come into their office and treated like there was no concern for their dignity nor care. I have witnessed some Elderly patients making appointments, coming in, and others being brought in a head of them. Why because we atre American and don't speak their lingo ? This is a place of business that unless you are a minority you'll be waiting to be seen.
On this occassion, I had made an appointment to be seen in their office one week prior. When I walked in, I was the 1st one in their office. They couldn't even find me on their computer, and had to discuss it if I could even be seen that morning. After complaing I was directed to the waiting room. I sat there some two hours and 35 minutes before I was even called. In the mean time the walk in riff raff came, was seen and left over the next two hours and 35 minutes. I finally got annoyed and went to the frront of the admitting Area and questioned why I was being called. You know what their answer was... oh we forgot to put your visit in the computer...b go back to the waiting room and we'll call you... as I was leaving, I looked over my shoulder anmd they were laughing.
On Thursday, the following week, I had gone to see the NURSE and made another appointment to go in at 10am. I arrived 20 munites prir signed in and was directed to go into the waiting room. By 12:15 I was still sitting in the waiting room, and not being seen. I went up to the front desk, and asked them why I wasn't being seen... and their response was... oh... we'll look into that... go have a seat. Forty five minutes paSSED AND A WAVE OF PEOPLE CAME, WERE SEEN AND HAD LEFT.
i GUESS IF YOUR ANM aMERICAN, AND NOT A SPANISH PERSON YOU GET THE treatment that these spanish people get in America... come in and wait mentality.
Then, should you get in.. nobody speaks English well enough to even care. There is total lack of concern, total favoritism, towards their own ethiticity , and you are coming to " them " so you'll deal the cards you are being delt and like it, or go someplace else.
it's NO WONDER they are where they are in life. Everyuthin g they do is "later" or tomorrow mentality.
I then had another appointment on the following Friday, and arrived at 9:30 asm.. anmd it was the same ol mas tarde... mira... mentality... sit.. wait... and people coming in after you, seen before you... and leave... while you are getting annoyed by the minute,.
if you can chose another office... find an Amer0ican speaking Office, and get away from any office dealing with thjat... I'll get to you later Signore mentality. They have NO RESPECT, and show this to you in theb treatment you receive in their Office as a Natural born U.S. Citizen.. Guess you have to be a Gonzalez, Velez, Gomez, Rivera, or other ethnic nationality to be treated with respect in America today. Just imagine, you are a second class citizen now in your own Country.
