| Sweetwater Border Collies Stephanie Young Stewart Fraudulent Misrepresentation by SUPPOSED Ethical Breeder Randleman, North Carolina |

| I was approached by Stephanie Stewart by email in April as she was selling mutliple Border Collies because of health related issues with her puppies and some of her adult dogs. After an agreement was made and after time had passed in order to ensure the health of Morgans Gidget (bred by Mike Easterwood of Morgans Border Collies) I paid her in full and arranged transport to get the dog to me in July 2011. I received her on July 1st, 2011. The dog was sent to me with ABCA full registration paperwork/pedigree, however the paperwork was not signed over by Stephanie Young. She agreed on multiple occassions in writing to sign the paperwork over to me for full registration with breeding rights. On August 8th, Stephanie Young Stewart traveled to Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania to purchase a puppy from my cobreeder with full registration which she received on the day that she picked up her pup. She then traveled to my house in Virginia unannounced late at night, DEMANDING to purchase Morgans Gidget back. I was not interested in selling the dog. I asked her to sign the papers, she refused and informed me that she would not uphold her agreement saying "You will never get your papers". She was very agitated and at that point I told her to leave or that I would call the police. I then contacted AKC and was informed that Stephanie had registered Morgans Gidget into her name on August 3rd, many weeks after I had purchased and had possession of the dog. She has gone out of her way to breach her contract with me going so far as to call the breeder and convincing him to lie along with her. Morgans Gidget was originally sold to someone else at 8 weeks of age with full registration and no limitation of registry. HOWEVER, Mike Easterwoods and Stephanies story is now that Mike Easterwood SOLD THE DOG DIRECTLY TO STEPHANIE. NOT TRUE. This story was created by Stephanie Young and Mike Easterwood in order to prevent me from getting full registration. This was the ONLY way for them to block me, and for AKC to not be able to help me resolve it. Puppy Buyers Beware, Breeders Beware Stephanie Stewart is also in the business of buying pups, and quickly turning around and bartering them for other pups that catch her eye!!! The one that was purchased by Stephanie from my cobreeder has been offered up for trade many times. Getting a contract or things in writing from Stephanie MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. She does what she wants, when she wants, regardless of agreements. |

| This woman misrepresented several things. She HAS received both AKC and ABCA registration papers SOLELY in her name, and it was many weeks ago (i.e., . BEFORE this report). It is true that I have tried to place the dog I got from her co-breeder but that is because I do not want her name associated with any of my dogs. No one wanted to buy him from me for the same reason so he is still here. I did not demand anything I simply asked and was told no, and left of my own accord. She got her papers as promised. For the record there was NO CONTRACT FOR ME TO BREACH. Quite simply, we used to be very good friends for years and are not now. This is simply a case of hard feelings on her part and a desire to hurt my feelings and reputation. There is no one that can say they never got their papers as promised from me. |

Be sure not to believe everything you read on the internet about people.
I am a certified dog trainer and have titled dogs at the national and international level in many venues. I own one of Stephanie’s Border Collies and she is the best dog I have ever owned. She is well manner, has no aggression, no fears and no phobias. She is the most well rounded Border collie I have ever owned and met. All of her genetic testing was complete when I purchased her and everything that was promised was given to me in a timely manner. Stephanie gave me full ownership of this dog, as promised and I have had no issues with her as a person or breeder. My Sweetwater dog will more than likely go on to win many titles and I only have Stephanie to thank for this! |

I am shocked. With all the puppy mills, crappy dogs that are not socialized, healthy and well all over the internet, especially within border collie circles, why is this post even here? Can anything be said about people anywhere at any time without recourse? I'll admit, I don't know the details of this event first hand, but let me assure you I echo the poster above. My Sweetwater Border Collie pup is the best dog I've ever owned. We own 5 currently, we've had her a year, and I believe she is about the 15th in my life. I have never had a better, more well rounded dog. EVER! Strangers, kids, unbalanced dogs, you name it, she's cool with it all and everyone loves her. She is smart as a whip. No neurosis, no freakouts, no insanity, no issues, no problems. That tells me VOLUMES about the breeder, the environment, the pedigree and the husbandry at the source.
Of course, I received my papers and all related documentation with the pup and she was delivered in excellent condition. We have kept in touch since the purchase, she cares about her dogs and where they are homed. There must have been a misunderstanding of some type here. Sounds like paperwork was not in order at time of sale or perhaps Stephani learned something that made her worry about the care of the dog sold. The details are not very clear and it is obvious that things are resolved now. So, why the ugly post now? Sad, when this could be directed at so many who ought to be put out of business! |

| I also want to state for the record that the AKC Open Registration Rules (straight from the Supervisor of Open Registration at AKC) state that the ONLY person that can open register an ABCA dog with AKC is the one ON the ABCA papers. I was the owner stated on the ABCA papers so I was the only one that could open register the dog with AKC. The woman that filed this report blatantly and openly lied in this report about me and the Easterwoods. Also for the record this dog is registered "Non Breeding" with ABCA therefore AKC had to register the dog the same way. I have copies of both sets of papers where it states this status, and I have receipts where I personally paid for and transferred this dog into her name myself. I specifically asked both registries to send her the papers directly so there would be a record that they sent them to her. Both myself and the breeder received notification that she was asking for the Non Breeding status to be lifted on this dog, and the request was refused. So apparently she is just angry that she cannot get her way. |
