Supermedia Supermedia, LLC Sales rep promised one product, signed me up for something I didn't want. Can't cancel DFW Airport, Texas |

I had a sales rep visit my office and show me their services they offer. She told me about a service that would help get my web site to the top of the search engines and told me it was $99/month for a year. She said they would take a look at my web site and change things on the site so that search engine like Google recognize it better. It sounded like something I wanted to do so I agreed to sign up for that service. A couple months went by and I got my first bill, but I hadn't heard from anyone yet about changing the content on my site as she had told me they would do. When I called to ask about this, the customer service person said that's not what I signed up for. She signed me up for a listing on the Superpages web site! What?!? $99/month for a online yellow page listing. I told her I wanted to cancel then because I was promised something different. She stated that I couldn't because I was in a contract for a year. She said I could contact the sales person who promised this to me and maybe she could work something out. I left messages week after week for the sales person with no call back. After another couple months of calling the sales person leaving voicemails and talking to "customer service" I was finally able to get in touch with someone who informed me that the sales person who promised me is no longer with the company and that is why she wasn't returning my calls! Well, why does she still have a voice mail box with her name on it? I refuse to pay for a service that I never wanted to begin with. I even informed them of this and they still wouldn't stop my service. I have been contacted by a collection agency and now a lawyer called to say they are going to sue me. I would love to be involved with a class action against them as I see this kind of deceptive advertising is quite common with them. |
