suncoast holiday called me all the way from the states. they said tampa florida.. i am in Singapore by the way.. they wanted to sell me a package deal, and i thought it was a good deal. 998 USD to go to orlando, fort lauderdale and a bahama cruise. for 4 people! great deal huh? they would not pay for air fare but promised to get it at a 60% DISCOUNT~! i was uncertain but i din want to lose this chance.. before i know it, she was asking me for my card details. and claimed that it was safe as i only gave the details on the front. they said that if i did not give them the 3 digit number on the back, it would be safe. little did i know that they could charge me the amount just using my expiry date.. it is extremely difficult for me to contact them from singapore and i am having difficulty.. the amount i checked has already been charged to my account and my credit card says i cant block the transaction at all.. i need to get the company to refund me the money.. please help me.. |

This is SCAM for sure. The Suncoast Holiday called my mobile this morning (25 June 2011). They said I have won to be a winner get a free trip to Florida at worth of USD3000 for 4 pax. But I have to pay for the air flight only. They ask my credit card number and expiry date. I gave them the details because they said won't charge anything to my credit card. After I gave my credit card number and expiry date, they asked me whether I would like to pay for USD98. I said no due to they said it is free and why should I pay for USD98. They American guy said on the phone that he can predict that I sure say NO. I even ask they won't charge anything to my card and he said yes, it won't charge anything. Once again, SCAM for sure!!! You know what. I called to my credit card customer service that they tried to charge USD998 to my card at first time and not USD98 which the American guy said earlier. Thanks God! It is declined. The SCAM don't gave up and tried to charge my credit card at 2nd time of USD499. Praise Lord again! It is declined 2nd time. I called the bank block my credit card immediately to avoid the Suncoast Holiday may try to charge at lower price for 3rd time. Beware of it and do not ever disclose your credit card details to any strangers through phone. If it is really free then for sure totally free one with no need to pay anything and ask your's credit card details. Beware as the SCAM also sound very professional nowsaday. |

It's definitely a scam. I was woken up by their call this morning and wasn't thinking. The scam went along the same lines as for HenryF they rushed through the details, assured me that I would not have to pay anything for the next 3 months or until I give the go ahead but asked for my credit card details for verification. What do you know, they charge me $US933 and then the call magically disconnects just as I'm directed through to the 'manager' to dispute the transaction. The number they provided doesn't exist. Whilst trying to call them, the 'manager' leaves a message on my machine saying "the previous was disconnected due to an electrical strom. Tampa is the storm capital of the world" .. oookay, that was convenient right after you've charged my credit card and was to dispute the transaction!... I try to call back on that number can't get through. I contact my credit card company, it's too late to stop the transaction but they';ve canceled my card and once the transaction is processed I can contest it. Never give out your credit card details over the phone. Hopefully these jokers will be apprehended soon enough. I still can't believe I was stupid enough to fall for it. But, they had all my details so I thought they were somewhat legit. Live and learn I guess ... |

I was contacted by them today (suncoast holiday). Im from Denmark.
I asked the lady speaking rapidly, where from she had my number, she aswered that i had given my permission throught a webside for travelling. As i heard the offer i was like: it quite far away, its a travel that demands a lot of planning. But i fell for it, i even had them call a friend to add to the conversation, to hear him if HE wanted to join me, cause the man i spoke to after that lady, said that the offer was only open for today. I am actually looking for a travel to america, so i thoght it was convinient. He even gave me 30 days to rewiev the travel -package. I only had to pay 398$ for 4 persons.
As I spoke to friends and family i got insecure about the offer, and called my credit card company, who told me that i couldnt stop the transaction (that i recieved a comfirmation of by email). I closed my account.
I just cant believe that they would be so detailed about the package, about travel date/ planning, their webpage and the confirmation email if it is a scam.
Did any of you try to confirm the date of travel? Are you sure its a scam?
Im going to call them on tueday to see if my money can be refonded.
Good luck to you all |

I was sucked in to the deal by Suncoast Holidays and lost nearly $1, 000 AUD. My bank contacted me and said they noticed that the amount had been taken out and that this company was fraudulent. Apparently a lot of other bank customers had lost their money to Suncoast Holidays. They cancelled my card and froze my account. They contacted the Internet Police, who have just today recovered my money.
There is hope. Contact the Internet Police or Internet fraud squad in your country. The people behind the Suncaost Holiday scam should be made accountable. |

All the complaint are valid, everything that (ASTAR is a scam) is true. This is some straight bull*$%#! One thing in the script that has changed is the company name (ASTAR), they still say that they are ASTAR and they've been in business for over 20 years. On script the company's name is SUNCOAST HOLIDAYS. I am recently a former employee. I am educated and have street knowledge. In telling you all this, I knew from the start that this company was a scam. When I read the script I questioned its validity. And people it does say (QUALIFIED) not that you (WON) anything, but everyone does have their methods. I called individuals in Austrailia, Malaysia, Singapore, England, and Canada. I'm not in the business of misleading people, so I didn't last long there. In reality, this scam is not discounted! How are you going to tell consumers that they have to pay for their flights over here on top of paying $998, and a cruise fee of $299...shoot, they're paying for the whole trip. This is not a good deal!!! Sorry for you all who lost money. I did contribute, but I never got a sale, I only transferred the calls to the people who took the CC# and they were snakes. I over heard a conservation and it wasn't pretty. I remember that Curtis guy sizing me up one night. He looked criminal, like he had been to jail before. I can tell. And most of the employees there look like they were on drugs and some young employees there as well. They wanted employees to look professional and dress up while your talking on the phone. The night they let me go or fired me I was taken into a separate room upstairs next to the call center and told "you know how this business goes, you didn't generate enough up (lead), and I politely stated, " how can I when this sales gimmick is a fraud, but you all think its good business. All I can say is I can't believe people fall for this, especially when I was on the phone, and I was glad that people hung up on me. Language barrier!!! I questioned the fact of why are we calling these people early in the morning and they are either going to work or sleeping. We worked from 6 to 11pm and sometimes stayed later, and it was 5am-12pm in that part of the world the next day. I just didn't feel right. But hey, trust your instincts, If it sounds fishy, it is. They (ASTAR/SUNCOAST HOLIDAYS) are currently calling Australia, New Zealand (Hey Mates), Malaysia, and Singapore. |

Hello - the same thing happened to me last week (13-15 July 2011) - I was also contacted by Suncoast Holiday Tampa with the same "exceptional offer" - however, they did provide a name and phone number: Mr. Edward Petrie, +813 915 4050 - when I asked which company he was working for, he replied Radisson Resort... VISA blocked the scam's numerous attempts to charge my VISA card but fortunately, VISA blocked this company as they are registered as "Fraudulant". I got lucky.
Hope this can help the person in SINGAPORE to get closure. |

To complete my previous post: I am based in Switzerland - everything that I read on this page corresponds to what happened to me last week too. |

My father paid the $998, he understood what he was getting for his money (8 nights accom in Orlando & Fort Lauderdale, he would have to pay his own flights / transport and attend a time share presentation).
He has recently passed away, I have tried to cancel the trip and get a refund for my mother. But they have not yet responded to my email and phone messages.
I plan to go on twitter/facebook/every scam blog site in 1 weeks time, and let people know whether they respond or not. It will prove whether they are bona fide or just scammers. |
|
|
this is not a scam, I did purchase the package and visited Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Best time |
