| I have been with Substitute Teachers Unlimited aka. Personnel Power Inc.for 3 and a half years, during that time several of my checks from them have bounced. This is not only true in Detroit, Michigan, but in other states they also work out of in Chicago, Arizona, California and others. They owe me as of today four weeks of paychecks, that I have not gotten. I am displeased, the schools I was assigned to stated they paid them the state funds to issue to its teachers and yet, upon calling for an assignmentor work; Lindsay answers the phone and says that they are changing their funding system from Comerica Bank and the signer of the checks Drake Gates, the owner of Personnel Power Inc. This same story was told to me in Michigan and to others in the other states and that they are possibly taken off and changing their name to JMG Educational Services as I was told by one charter school, who suspects that the name change and the changing of their funding system is an attempt by them to avoid lawsuits and media attention, who by the way I will be calling Bill Spencer at Channel 7 News (248) 827-3362 this week if I do not get my 4 paychecks that I worked for long-term in the City of Warren. Here is the address for Personnel Power, Inc, 49138 Gratiot Ave, Chesterfield,MI 48051 and a telephone number who I called at 5:00pm stated that Substitute Teachers Unlimited, Inc. at the same phone number (800) 350-0103 got the funds already and are in their Comerica Bank Account. Also, they told many of my girlfriends who also teach that they have no idea how long its gonna take! How long does it take to open a new bank account, since Comerica is only in Michigan not the 5 states, which are using other banks. I went to work today and the charter school told me to go so I lost a full day to a half day like last week and I will not go into work tomorrow and any other teachers out their the schools are not gonna take you and my friends called Lindsay she gave them half day assignments, no more full days! I got 4 kids to support I can't live workin below full time hours to part time! Somebody better investigate these people and I even called once and got Jim on the line, who Lindsay and Linda told me this afternoon is no longer in charge of distributing the payroll. So many lies and so many excuses! You teachers are workin for free! |

| I have the same horror story in Tucson AZ. They owe me for 7-1/2 days three weeks ago. I am not available because I believe I am working for nothing and these La Raza southside schools are zoos. |

I finally got all of the money they owed me but it took four weeks. I called Jim yesterday around 6:05 AZ time and he said they are officially closed for the summer and are not placing teachers right now. I know of several subs in the Phoenix area that didn't ge t paid for most of April. I was owed for three days, the checks were sitting on jim's desk according to him, and one where the check bounced.They finally released some checks an I took to to a local Comerica branch.
The bounced check was reissued with the chargeback fee added that i had to pay and it was cashed at another local branch. Other subs here have complained too, two I have kept in contact by phone, as of last week one had all of her checks, the other was just still waiting for some.
My credit union said they should never have closed their account with the first funding company until the new one was established and covering checks. Jim explained to me last week that they filed proper documentation but were asked for more paperwork and that was the reason for the delay. When all of this was going on, I called payroll once and was forwarded to Drake Gates extension. He never returned my call. The phone calls to them are often sent to a voicemail or if you call Jm and he doesn't answer you get a weird message about extension 505 or 502. When you do leave a message they don't call back. I will be interested to see if they are still in business i the fall. |

| I'm in the Flint area and as of yet have not been paid for 8 days of subbing I did back in April for a Charter school. I have called left messages and no one has called me back. I just got finished at U of M Flint with my education to become a certified teacher, K-8 which takes a lot of money. I need to pay the fees for my certificate, tuition I need to pay at U of M yet and a CPR class I have to pay for. I was planning on using the funds I earned from subbing to pay those expenses. I called the Attorney General's office at the State of Michigan and have not heard back from them yet. I am very frustrated and disheartened about the whole thing. | I have not been paid for one day of substitute teaching in February, 2011. Substitute Teachers Unlimited's check bounced. They sent me another check with the bank charges included and that check bounced. I called Lindsey several times and she always told me that they were changing to another payment system and that I would get paid. I told them that I definitely could not substitute for them until I got paid for that one day. Other times when I called, (and I have called numerous times) Lindsey said that a check would be in the mail the following Friday. The check never came. Then Lindsey said that I wasn't the only one not to be paid, as if that was suppose to make it allright. I asked her if she got paid and at first she said yes and then she said no. At the end of May I received another check with my pay and the two bank charges I incurred from the other two bounced checks. That check bounced also and now I have three bank charges in addition to no money from that check. If they can't pay people they should not send people out on assignments and expect them to volunteer their time, energy and car gas without letting them know they are volunteering. |
