State Senator Tom Patton - District 24 backing hugely abusive policies at the State Medical Board for women MDs - where medical licenses are taken w |

State Senator Tom Patton has been in the Ohio Statehouse since 2008 holding various legislative positions, and known that the Ohio State Medical Board is the #1 Medical Board for physician disciplines in the US. It is the #1 problem in Ohio. These false physician disciplines are for bizarre complaints, or causes that don't even fall under Ohio State Law. This is a man-made problem that is destroying Ohio medical care; physicians are leaving or resigning in record numbers and it isn't just about Obamacare. Tom Patton has 5 daughters, and yet has allowed hugely abusive & severe measures towards women MDs to continue for the last 4 years - where the women MDs can't defend themselves against comments, physical abuse, or sexual conditions for licensure & hospital appointments - in a culture of abuse in Columbus. His 5 daughters need to know what his policies have cost women physicians in health, in not allowing them to have children, in career loss, and in near suicides. Yes, I'm sorry for Tom Patton's loss of his son, but he nearly cost this woman her life because at times she doesn't care & puts herself in risky situations or allows that she doesn't get proper medical or dental care because she can't object to incompetence very well she gets abused. The State Medical Board wants to kill her and Tom Patton does - she's an embarassment. Going to Fr. Caddy - he knows that he has to do 'something,' but that has taken him 20 years. He'll be burying this woman MD if he doesn't speak out. Some of the women MDs have been intermittently on suicide precautions after not being allowed to see what the problem, or case, was against them - because some of it involved threats about sexual favors that the woman couldn't do, or physical threats to themselves & their families. It's just phrased as a personality disorder in the complaint, or Alzheimer's disease. To lose everything for state fraud is incomprehensible in Ohio in 2013. This is the USA - land of gays, lesbians, immigrants, & transgenders, but not of the straight woman MD. You can have no patient complaints, and be a woman MD who has her license taken for 20 years for 'making too much of admittedly bad care.' Then if if she ever gets 'cleared, there's no path to get this woman physician back to practice - no re-entry policy clauses or paths - no payback for damages like in other states. Ohio has no money, or at least the State Medical Board, and no one knows where it went - there is no FINANCIAL STATEMENT required of the goings on at the State Medical Board of Ohio. So the Ohio State Medical Board is broke from costly and ridiculous investigations - where there isn't even a state law broken or a patient complaint. Some guy 'friend' of a Medical Board Member just didn't get the collegial sex he was counting on - so the woman MD has an impairment. The definition of 'impairment' in Ohio is not in Merriam Webster. The woman MD just didn't satisfy the male orthopedics, or put out, or send enough patients to the right physicians. Ms. Anderson who has been responsible for the physician evaluations & investigations in recent years, is now the Interim Director of the State Medical Board - an arrangement that lacks any sensible meaning. Senator Patton let that appointment happen after getting Mr. Whitehouse resigned - he didn't put up a fight to get a reasonable objective Interim Medical Board Director. So the abuses of women physicians continue. There are Court of Appeals Judges that need a break, academic Ohio State Law School lawyers that need to get some experience outside of teaching, and even Legislator lawyers who could temporarily take charge of a mess at the State Medical Board. But putting one of the causes of the mess as the Interim Director is simply bad judgment. And you don't have to have any degrees to see that logic. That there will be any changes is a Sisyphean myth. The Ohio State Medical Board is glib to take & suspend medical licenses because there is no penalty for their making mistakes - as there is in EVERY OTHER STATE. And the Ohio Legislators just ignore the problem, don't know any medical terminology & are unwilling to learn, or never finished college and can't speak to women physicians and understand them. Tom Patton's biography reads that he 'attended Cleveland State.' Well why not finish to give good example to the college kids in his district? Does Tom Patton talk to his daughters about sex, and what advice would he give to a daughter being molested for kicks, amusement, or notches on the guy MD's belt? Or did his wife get that over with before she died. When the wife has died, the question is what kind of medical care did the wife get in Ohio? Obviously Tom Patton's son was not checked well for cardiovascular risk. The woman MD that might have done this well was out of a medical license. Tom Patton's son got a 'pass' when he needed a 'flunk' on the physical. Self-made men & women are the bedrock of the US, but the lack of education, communication, and understanding is stopping needed reforms at the State Medical Board of Ohio. No one is speaking the same languages ie mention reflex sympathetic dystrophy fracture complication and Senator Patton fades out. What would happen if the woman MD mentioned thyroiditis, Hashimoto's disease, Graves' disease, Dracunculiasis, Lymphatic Filariasis, Onchocerciasis, Polycythemia vera = all diseases that the woman MD Tom Patton is not helping knows about. She didn't learn those terms to have her live wasted for political sport, or to spend days defining them to a legislator with no interest. Senator Tom Patton can't sit down and hold his own with a woman MD in a meeting - so he doesn't schedule it. But all State Senators need to be aware of the problems that physicians in Ohio are facing at the State Medical Board in Ohio - and they aren't - it's going to be 4 more years before another election. And there is a way to get the message across, but it involves sitting down, or taking a walk, with dialogue. Ohio has some of the best roads in the country - Transportation is not the problem in Ohio - brains are. FMGs, green-card physicians & dentists = re-training foreign physicians is not the answer. Because they can't understand the nuances of the language, the slang, the medical history, and they make huge mistakes and their own countries are hurting for physicians. We should not be the respository of the best Turkish physicians, physicians that the Turkish Medical system trained - they are best put to use in Turkey, and not in the Case Faculty Dental Clinics or as Assistant/Associate Professors in the USA. Then we send our 'best' to Albania & Turkey in the Peace Corp - could people just stay and help where they can do the most good, in the culture that trained them? Or the dentists that did their MS in France - send them back to France to parlez. Ohio State Dental School should not be training FMGs with taxpayer monies - get that country to pay the Ohio State Dental School. Improvements in the Medical Board so that American-trained physicians can stay out of trouble are the answer - that the Medical Board work with physicians so that suspensions are rare events. Because putting that physician back to work, after a period of false suspension, will never happen - the physician will have to practice in another state for the remainder of their career - if they don't commit suicide or die of not getting appropriate medical care while under suspension. Physicians did not go to Medical School to fight with archaic rules at their State Medical Boards; they have too many student loans to afford that fight. But you can't avoid fights with a Medical Board that in 2013 still allows 'confidential' physician complaints, and that the confidential be changed with NO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS. When physicians are suspended, even wrongly, other physicians punish them by not helping them with medical care - to get points with the State Medical Board of Ohio. Stoning St. Stephen basically. Women MDs with no patient complaints, but a suspended license, then get no obstetrics-gynecology care, they are not allowed to get pregnant or married (the husband will be harassed), and they are not allowed blood work in Ohio - no TSH, no estradiol, no nothing. If there is a past PAP smear - it will be published in public records to humiliate the woman MD into a confession. The State Medical Board of Ohio does not believe in women MDs getting blood work. Provisions to not suspend the MD licenses, or not suspend medical insurances have to be made - until a case is proven or dismissed. You can't leave physicians without medical care because the Ohio State Medical Board is making mistakes, and wants the physician to admit the mistake by the waterboarding of withholding medical care. Saying that the medical care is outdated in Ohio - is 'making too much' - so care never gets improved - this especially hurts women patients where male MDs are always missing the thyroid function tests, always drilling the teeth with the untreated thyroid problem, and always beating the women up when they don't react like a guy to care that isn't fit for a NYC dog, let alone a woman patient. It's like out of Medieval England, where even the most royal of women died of puerperal fever. Just reporting the situation for improvements in care, paradigms, and for abuses of men trying to collect $ for no care, is a cause to suspend the medical license of the woman MD in the middle of the care. And women MDs don't get medical care - they have to order their own x-rays, bone density & physical therapy. Dr. Tim Nice will try to collect for casting a fracture badly for 4 days, after 5 days of letting the fracture ripen to 'excrescence' - maybe that's a word that Tom Patton understands - it seems to be a guy word. The Medical Board of Ohio still allows Dr. Tim Nice to do this. Dr. Michael Keith will use 'experimental' casts that never work - the Medical Board allows him to do this - no signing of releases or informed consent. Women MDs don't have informed consent or confidentiality - any complaint of theirs is released to the male physician involved, the Hospital staff office, and the community - against state law. Even the community knows better. St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Gates Mills has Dr. Robert Botti as a parishioner - he lies to the State Medical Board about abuses done to women MD parishioners to protect his friends, buddies, & neighbors = peer pressure like in grade school is the operative word. Botti is a 'cleaner' for the State Medical Board. In front of the school kids that Fr. Caddy is trying to teach to tell the truth - the woman MD has no license and Dr. Botti is playing at being a Gates Mills 'Player' with Betty the Body. And the women MDs just want some help to stop the abuses - not necessarily any licenses to roll - just some help to improve the conditions and culture of abuse in medicine. Where women get things done to them without discussion, without real consent, on x-rays from 3 years ago - for money, for power. The power differential between male and female MD/DO professionals in relationships, health care, and in getting medical care is the entire electromagnetic spectrum with the males getting the visible power. Recently through Tom Patton's efforts, The Executive Director, Mr. Rick Whitehouse, resigned. But this was too little too late for the hundreds of false physician disciplines that have been spiraling out-of-control since the allowing of 'confidential' physician complaints in the 1990s. There are admitted stacks of hundreds of innocent physicians whose career was destroyed at a time when other states needed these physicians. Tom Dilling and Rick Whitehouse have the LIST of probably INNOCENT physicians - and Tom Patton could get those lists if he asked. Somehow the falsely accused physicians need to get their license cleared and back to work through a re-entry program - which will have to be specific for Ohio. Somehow Senator Patton needs to get tutored, and up-to-speed, on the problems at the State Medical Board of Ohio - and physicians in his district have offered to meet with him. But to have a women MD near suicide after 20 years of false discipline and unnecessary psychiatric evaluations, because she said 'No' to Dr. Nice's care & attentions - is not productive. Fr. Caddy knows she's in trouble, but is sitting on the situation - which does not teach the school kids at St. Francis School anything good. If you see someone that might be a suicide risk, you help them, and before 20 years. Cheating is ok if you get away with it, lying is ok if you get an early retirement deal, and the best thing is to destroy whoever gets in your way and NOT GET CAUGHT. Dr. Robert Botti needs to come forward and clear the woman MD who couldn't sleep with his Gates Mills neighbor - both he and his wife know that the guy is a walking case of infidelity. It's not ok that physicians in the community cheat like the Lance Armstrongs of cycling, and the Te'os at Notre Dame. There is competence and character - and character is important in medicine. Dr. Botti has competence, but no character. Tom Patton has some character, and some competence, but not with regards to the State Medical Board of Ohio. Both are as important in Medicine as in the Army. Cheating, lying, and bearing false witness are costly - it has almost cost one woman her life and she has serious health problems from not being allowed treatment of her bone condition for 20 years - her teeth are being misread by the Turkish/French/Arab dentists at Case. She's been mistreated by dentists (who have never seen thyroid disease left untreated for a decade so that there are evanescent lesions in teeth), obstetrics-gyns who miss the TSH-FSH connection, the Mayo Clinic who refuses to do an FSH or complete thyroid panel, and the Medical Board of Ohio that has refused to allow this woman MD a medical workup and blood work for 20 years. This woman is dying, and is a suicide risk Fr. Caddy - and it's time that you showed the School Kids of St. Francis some character. How should they handle this type of situation? They know from their parents what is going on - the woman MD can't go to church for the Gates Mills Police (on Botti's side) and the ridicule. Senator Patton also needs to be an example for the Catholic school kids who need to know how to say sorry, admit a mistake, and not lie for 20 years. Destroying a medical career does not have a price tag. Right now Lance Armstrong is justified that he did what everyone else was doing, well how different are Fr. James Caddy, Dr. Robert Botti, and Senator Patton? All of you are just doing what everyone else is doing - and more is expected. Are you waiting for the Oprah interview? |
