When dealing with StarLift Equipment Co Inc & Justin Picarillo all seemed good. I purchased a used Forklift on 1/19/2011 for almost $7,000 and did a trade in on my older Clark (Got $1,500 for it). They took a while to delivery the product which was no big deal but in order to us my credit card they charge me a fee for it. Months last, they randomly charged my credit card, which they STORED without telling me or authorizing them to do, $988.76. They did not provide me any information on this charge or even tell me they were doing this. I had to email and call to get any details. They mentioned to me that the forklift that I trading in months earlier was missing parts. I told Justin Picarillo that I had the parts here and he could come get them even though his inspector told me they were going to tear unit down for parts and that I wouldn't even need to give them the parts when they picked up my forklift. I told Justin Picarillo that storing my credit card info, charging my card without authorization and even charing me a fee to use a credit card was all illegal. They told me on 3/25/2011 they would refund my money. On 3/28/2011 when I called Justin Picarillo back, he told me he changed his mind and had no intentent of refunding me. He asking like a spoiled brat so I figured he must work for his dad. I was correct, his father Ray Picarillo is the man in charge. Ray was pretty nice but was very protective of his son. I mentioned to Ray Picarillo that I was going to file a scam report on them, contact the CT Attorney General, file a charge back, make a complain with the BBB and call the credit card company about their "fees" for using a credit card. He said go ahead, I am not refunding you your money. So here I am. I highly suggest stearing away from these guys. They are nice at first but this is a classic bait and switch. Just be careful! |
