SOUTHWEST HOMES REBUTTAL TO COMPLAINT FROM SAN ANTONIO Bryan, Texas |
4th of Jan, 2012 by User181613 |
Southwest Homes has been building homes in the Brazos Valley for over 25 years and has over 600 customers, some of whom we have built 2,3 and 4 homes. We pride ourselves in our customer service during and after the construction. We have been voted “Best Builder†three times in a voter poll conducted by the local media. We would like to respond to DAVE specifically, but due to the nature of the review system, we don’t know who he is or even if he is really a customer or maybe a competitor. Our contracts, specifications and plans are written so they can be understood by persons with little technical construction knowledge, and we read over everything with our customer at closing. When developing custom home plans with our customers, we may look at different options and variations and prices, but the last paragraph we all initial in our contract is that the plans and specifications we are signing are what we are going to build, and all previous versions do not apply. After all the docs are signed, the customer still has three days to take all the documents, specifications and plans home and re-read them, or take them to their lawyer for review, and if for any reason they want to cancel the contract, they are given a form that they can return to us within the three days to do that. In over 25 years we have had only one customer cancel within the three day period, and that person eventually had us build her home. We have no hidden costs in our contracts, and if our customers make a change, we have them sign a change order showing the cost of the change. We give our customer allowances for certain items (such as light fixtures or floor cover), which means they have that amount to spend on that item. If they go over the allowance amount, they have to pay the overage and if it’s under the allowance, they get a credit. We do not spend any of the allowance money without approval of our customer. If DAVE will contact us directly, we will try to resolve his complaint. We are members of the Better Business Bureau, and, as such, we agree to abide by their arbitration policies, which means that if DAVE does not get satisfaction from us, he can always go through the BBB arbitration. |
