Sommer Auto Sales Family Business Treats Customers Like Dirt. Sells Low Quality Cars, Lies About Repairs Made then Blames Customer. Pataskala, Ohio |

Bought a car from Sommers, made my payments on time for the first few months until it died in the middle of the street on my way to work. Luckily I broke down right in front of an automotive service garage and the guys pushed the car out of the street into their parking lot. They looked at it, put on the lift and let me know that the timing belt was installed wrong, something with the air conditioner they we had asked them to bypass because it would have added another several hundred dollars to the price that I do not have. Someone at Sommer's had siliconed the valve cover gasket, oil got everywhere. 308 dollars and a few days later I was able to drive my car again but was told not to drive too far or for very long due to the wheel bearing and hub being ready to fall off and the axle being messed up. Roughly $150 later I was able to drive my car again, only missed one day of work that week. Last week driving home from work with the husband and BAM then the smell of burning rubber. The coil spring broke and was tearing into the tire. We were stranded, had to buy strut/coil spring for $125 AND pay for a tow at $150. Lost a day of work that week too surprise, surprise. So after paying $733 so far I called Sommer's and asked them what they had done to the car before I bought it. They told me they replaced the timing belt, both front wheel bearings, replaced all break pads which are worn more than my normal driving would have done, 11 miles to and 11 miles from work and to the grocery. Break pads shouldn't be worn from that. So they also said water pump, left tie rod, and rear shocks. I let them know what I had to do to the car recently and asked if I could postpone my payment for this month to the end of the loan term. They told me to give them all receipts but at this point probably not because they need to have a "relationship" with me first in order to do something like this for me. I told them that my whole paycheck went into fixing stuff that they allegedly replaced already. They started in on my telling me that my mechanics are trying to screw me and that when it died on me it was probably because I didn't pay my payment and the started kill switch was engaged to which I told her that my payment wasn't due yet and that it had started, I drive down the street five houses and it stopped, died in the middle of the street. Then she told me that they will not pay any of my repair bills and that I have to make my payment. I told her I wasn't asking them to pay the repairs (even though they should) and that I have every intention of paying, I just need to do it at the end of term because all my money went into getting the crappiest car in the world running so I can get to work so that I can make the freakin payment. At this point the kill switch will allow me to go to work tomorrow, I don't know about getting home, but that's it. Do NOT buy cars from these people, they are mean and not even remotely family oriented. They accused me of lying about what has been done and replaced on this car while they were the ones lying. iThis car still isn't in full working condition and they keep hemming and hawing and not giving me a decision about paying at the end. If it comes down to it, they can come and get this load of crap out of my yard. Be WARNED....Sommer's Auto, it is way over priced for the quality of vehicle it is and the shape that it's in. Sommer's will tell you they replaced parts however, I wouldn't put a lot of stock into that, my mechanics can attest to that. Besides, who silicones a valve cover gasket?? Really? I'm a girl and I even know better than that! |
