Some of you have read the new articles: http://www.gadailynews.com/news/61845-teacher-ashley-payne-fired-for-posting-picture-of-herself-holding-beer-on-facebook.html An Apalachee High School Teacher from Barrow County, GA - forced to resign, simply for posting pictures of herself with a drink in her hand on a well deserved European vacation. This is a classic example of our rights as Americans being stripped away by this evil, evasive force called "political correctness". Political correctness is nothing more than a means for the self appointed "politically correct" to control what we say, what we think and what we do. And they couldn't have chosen a more deceptive term. "Correctness". It almost sounds like a good thing. It's not. Wake up America. Americans have fought and died for your right to freedom of expression. Don't give it up without a fight. Sooner or later, Americans will fight back. The sad part is - this problem is flourishing in the private sector, as evidenced by this teacher who is clearly the victim here of a vicious PC attack by the principal of Apalachee High School - David B McGee. You can't blame the government for political correctness. They might have started it, but we didn't have to let it get this far. We're doing it to ourselves. Or, more appropriately, the people in power (government and private) are doing it to us. But we're enabling them by passively shrugging it off like lame sheep. I hope that Ashley's defense team calls David B. McGee to the stand and asks him how many times he personally sat down and spoke with students about the dangers of alcohol and drugs. I bet he hardly ever does. In fact, I don't think he truly cares about that at all. We all know that there is a huge epidemic in this country. Children are abusing drugs and alcohol. It is appalling and disgusting to see people like McGee exploit this problem for political gain. I strongly recommend that McGee be immediately terminated for his morally reprehensible actions. If you want to solve the problem of drugs and alcohol, you first have to solve the problem of bad parenting. It's one thing if a teacher is sitting there with a student doing shots. If that were the case, the rest of the nation wouldn't be going up to bat for Ashley. But that isn't the case. Last I checked, the legal drinking age was 21. She was on her own time, paying for the alcohol with her own money, and posted the picture on her own Facebook page. This school, and the principal - David B McGee, has infringed on her rights in what amounts to modern technological terrorism. "Do what we tell you to say, think what we tell you to think, say what we tell you to say, or we'll fire you". Terrorists make a statement by threatening you in places that you feel comfortable and secure. Terrorists go after what's important to their targets. Ashley felt comfortable and secure posting those pictures on her Facebook page. McGee wanted her to not feel safe and secure posting this information on her personal Facebook page. We might as well just adopt Sharia law. The truth is - we're more of a threat to ourselves than terrorists ever were - and I think you all know it. Society is under attack by unscrupulous low lives like David B McGee. It's not about morals, it's not about ethics. Instead, it's about the administration of morals and ethics. In other words, the self appointed politically correct are basically saying "We'll tell you what's right and wrong. Don't question us." McGee doesn't care about the well being of children making terrible choices. He just wanted to make a political point. And as a citizen who is tired of seeing our rights being stripped from us, I'm making a political point. I want to McGee immediately terminated for his illegal actions against Ashley Payne. She did nothing wrong. I think I have the right to voice my opinion on this matter. I have served my country honorably. I have gone through YEARS of anti-terrorism training. I have done a lot of good. And McGee's actions, to me, are phony. He's just a phony pretending to do the right thing to make himself look better. I hope that the rest of you can see past that. And fortunately, I work for myself. I don't answer to anyone but my customers. Lemonade out of lemons. If the private sector is violating your rights, create a new private sector. Make your employer your employee. Don't say it can't be done - I did it. Employees are not robots, they are human. Humans deserve vacations. Humans deserve time off, and humans deserve to be able to express their ideas, experiences and beliefs. People like McGee who are out of touch with this reality and who lack empathy & compassion - have no business being in supervisory positions. At best, McGee lacks good judgment, at worst - his actions were meant to deprive Ashley of her rights, liberties and freedoms as an American. America is going through a very troubled time. We live in a time when students are being suspended from school for having breast cancer bracelets and American flags. Our politicians do nothing about it, but they'll fight tooth and nail so that two men can marry one another and adopt a child. And those same politicians are taking away our right to object to - or even question it. That's not the America I used to know. In the America I used to know - freedom of speech was a right, not a slogan. |
