Snap Illusions Jack Moyer Magic WARNING! Do not send money to these people. They ask for 100% up front and never send product. Bargersville, Indiana |
7th of Apr, 2011 by User474701 |
I sent Snap Illusions over $3000 in 2009. They were great to deal with and very friendly UNTIL they got my money. After that I got nothing but excuses why my props weren't shipped. They blamed deaths in the family and parts issues and everything else under the sun. They no longer respond to ANY emails or calls from me and its been almost 2 years since they got their money. I did a google search on the company and found out there are MANY MANY others that they ripped off. Search for yourself and find out before dealing with them. I wish I did and I would have saved $3000. Give these scammers money and you will never see it or what you ordered ever again! |

This is absolutely false. On the internet anything can be said, that doesn't mean it's true. We have been part of the magic community for 30 years. We have hundreds of satisfied customers who will back us up on that statement. http://www.snapillusions.com/Customer_Testimonials.html .
Unfortunately when you are the company with the best prices, you tend to step on toes of other people who do not like you for this reason. This is something we have had to put up with from day one in the business and unfortunately it will probably never change.
The positive thing is that although people can go on these sites and try to create bad press for us, it does just the opposite, it attracts attention to us and our website, which in return, gets us new customers, who know how some people in the magic community can be. We are available to provide customer references in which they can contact so that they can see that the negative comments are totally false.
On websites like this one, a person is able to register and then post anything they want without proving it's true. Same with the forums and chat sites you can go on..anything can be said. Luckily for us, we have files and files of shipped ordered throughout the years, shipping receipts and satisfied customers from all over the world who will gladly stand behind our business and our products. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would be able to figure out that if what was being said where true we would not still be in business. |

Also one more thing I would like to respond to, which I didn't see in the complaint before. We do not always ask for the money upfront...this is up to the customer ordering the item. Some want to pay all up front, we also have a 50% down and the balance 2 weeks before items are shipped we provide the customer with picture of the item before the balance is sent. We also have a layaway -payment plan that we take out over several months.

A very important point to take in consideration: Mr Moyer says that he steps on toes by offering products at a low cost... Keep in mind that the people who are complaining are not the competition, but rather his clients!
A huge discussion regarding Mr Moyer and snap Illusions can be found here:
http://www.geniimagazine.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=209824&page=1
and another report can be seen here:

At the very least, I would recommend extreme caution when dealing with Mr Moyer of Snap Illusions. He does seem like a very cool likable person, but a lot of people are complaining about paying a lot of money and not receiving anything in return. And unlike the people who give testimonies on his site, these clients who are complaining are all easily identifiable. I am not saying that Mr. Moyer's testimonies are made up, as he says himself, it is easy to write anything on the internet...
Buyer beware when dealing with Snap Illusions. |

SNAP ILLUSIONS IS A FRAUD!!!
BEWARE OF THIS.
I sent snap illusions over 4000$ on 2009 and NOW in November 2011 I haven't got my order and I haven't got my money... WHY????
No call phone answered, no emails answered...
DO NOT BUY IS A FRAUD!!! |

I also ordered a product from them in Sept. 2011. They DID ASK FOR 100% of the money up front and by bank wire transfer! I was promised delivery by October 1st, 2011 (I have the email from them confirming this) yet to this date have received nothing! They will not return emails nor phone calls! I have made contact with FBI Internet crime division as well as attorney general in the state of Indiana. They are investigating this company and it's fraudulent practices. I wished I would have investigated them further! They are scammers, thieves and liars! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM!
Pending the investigation that is going on with the attorney general, there may be criminal charges that could be brought as well as a civil suit. Anyone interested in a class action suit? |

In response to Mr. Moyer's response, Why is it Mr. Moyer you do not return emails or phone calls? You would think you would want to keep your customers happy and provide excellent customer service. Obviously that is not your concern since you don't respond. You may have the best prices and I guess you can offer cheap prices, since you don't deliver on any of your orders! The only positives that I have read about your company have been on your site. Everything else has been negative and how you have swindled and taken money from people for illusions that you haven't delivered. I am one of those customers. I for one will pursue this and hopefully you will be exposed and dealt with legally! I have been performing for over 30 years and have never dealt with a company like yours you are a disgrace to the magic community.
I am sure you aren't making any life time customers! Good luck and just remember what goes around comes around! |
