Obviously fraudulent. Constant cohersion and false promises til they get you to give bank info. I backed out on the phone and told them I looked online and saw they were fraudulent and told them that and that I wanted to cancel and if they gave me any trouble I would report them and cancel my card before they had a chance to charge me. They gave me- then my Husband the run-around, with lies and passing us from one person to the other and telling us we couldn't cancel without a confirmation number and that I wouldn't get my $100 gift certificate, and I told them I don't care about the gift cert., I just want to cancel, and they needed to do that. Finally we just hung up after enough time wasted and so much frustration. I cancelled my card immediately. I don't know where they are from, but they sounded Indian or African. They said they were Asian, but they certainly were not, and one said his last name was Fernandes. So they are either stupid or they think we are. Probably a little of both! I told them I didn't want the gift cert. , I just wanted to talk to Sony. They kept saying Sony's lines were slow and that they sent me there for a promotion and gift. I asked them many questions, and they kept promising they were legitimate and that the call was recorded for my security and that they'd give confirmation to prove it was honest....... And to think, all I was trying to do was call the Sony repair line for help with my camcorder, and somehow they seemed to intercept the call! It seemed wrong from the beginning and it only got worse. Listen to your instincts and to all the many stories about fraud. Nothing's for free! I feel stupid that they almost kinda had me fooled for a second.
