| I find myself writing this as a warning to others whom cherrish and love their pets. I have an older ailing dog and could not get him into his usual vet clinic due to timing. I chose to come here for I had taken Rocky (my dog) here 6 years prior. Now with his failing health the last thing I needed to deal with is an unscrupulous staff and billing practices. I virtually walked away with no true prognosis only to be extorted for a large amount of money over what they had originally qouted. While on my way out of the meeting with the Vet I went to settle up & I was greeted with a much higher balance due than originally spoke about. I was so sad about Rocky's ill health I just was going to pay the balance & leave. Due to the Balance being such a large figure I stated that I needed to call my bank to see an accurate balance in my checking due to all my recent Christmas purchases. I then realized that I was short by about 40 or so dollars and simply said that I'll need to run a part on my card and give them a check for the rest so I could handle tranferring funds later that day. I did not wish to utilze a Credit Card to satisfy their needs. The staff member said that I couldn't do that and demanded payment in full. I then asked to speak with someone thinking surely this was just some protocol and we could obviously make the necessary payment arrangements with manager involvement. I then was greeted back by the Vet. and I explained that I would need to seek different payment arrangements. No Dice they said they needed their monies in full today before I leave even though I have lived in this area in a affluent neighborhood for 6 years & could give a check for the balance. Now I'm a Hostage? The staff member then stated that "we had problems with people like you" That defamatory statement really didn't sit well. Meanwhile I still have a very sick dog to attend too but this statement made me dive into their over billing me for services rendered. I explained that their fees were much more than the original qoute & this is no way to treat a customer. I added that they need to be upfront with their qoutes and when asked they stated that you needed to read the "Fine Print" & they can charge whatever the bill comes to. I took care of the debt by using another card & then I stated again that I did not expect this much higher cost...then the owner of this clinic came out. She said Ill write a script so you can go get non veterinary (human) medicine elsewhere?? I had already paid the debt at this time in full and had vet meds in hand and her solution was to let me leave without the main reason for which I came in TO HEAL MY VERY SICK DOG??? I left very unhappy with the overpriced meds & a $14 extra dispensing fee to boot. After taking care of Rocky at home making him comfortable I went by another Casa Grande Vet Clinic with my billing asking them to see if the charges look accurate. This is when I realized I was RIPPED OFF! The secondary clinic went over the billing with me and showed where I had paid for many duplicate billing proceedures. The Chem Tech at the secondary clinic explained that I was double charged for Blood work calling it different line items. Then she pointed out that their standard Xray charges of $115 covered two views for which I was charged separately $45 more in fees. This secondary clinic balance was $75 less although their medication added to make the qoute comparable was much higher in cost. !!!Please Don't Use The Small Animal Clinic They are proven untruthful and overcharge with fees. I still feel slandered with their derogatory statements insinuating and pooling me with previous customers that skated out of paying their tab. I Stated Clearly to the staff that I wanted to call to see where my checking balance was at. DEAD BEATS DON"T CALL THEIR BANKS!!! to make certain funds are available... IF YOU COME HERE FOR VETERINARY NEEDS BRING YOUR WALLET!!! scam |
