sleepy's muliple charges for one purchase fredericksburg, Virginia

On 9/10/11 I went into Sleepy's to purchase a queen mattress set. We were met by a salesman who never gave his name but showed us around as he complained about being at work when he was supposed to be off as well as the fact that the store was new and did not have a phone. At the time of purchase the employee could not get the bank card machine to work so he had me swipe it numerous times. At one time he actually signed three letters where I was to sign, so on the bill of reciept that is what is there for payment agreement instead of my name. Well as the employee is getting me to swipe my card I ask if this is charging my account, to which he says no. After leaving I discover my bankcard has been charged 4 times for the purchase of 1 mattress set and over $4,000 is on hold in my account. I return to the store 20 minutes after leaving to have this fixed. As of 10 minutes ago, after taking off of work and making 12 phone calls to Sleepy's there were still pending charges on my account that were in hold and unavailable to me. Seepy's does not seem to understand that they are responsible to free the funds back to my account. They have refused to take the simple step of calling an 866# for my bank to verify that they have recieved thier payment and the other charges are in error. So, while I reiceved my one mattress set and Sleepy's recieved prompt payment for it, Sleepy's has not released the money connecte to the false charges which occured 4 days ago. Thier employees have made statements such as...I need to "be patient", "work to relplace it", "go away", "do not talk with other about it", "get over it" and various others. However, at no time did any employee I spoke with offer to replace the money with their own....hmmmmm, it is okay to keep my money but not give thiers. While they may sleep well, my family struggles to compensate for money which is ours but is unavailable to us. Fredericksburg, Virginia
