What is a fair profit margin for a business to do nothing? If your simplefilings.com it's as much as 300%. The site provides a "service" and charges you a fee. What you need to know before hand is that this site is NOT affiliated with any STATE or FEDERAL entity. I thought "simple filings" was some online feature of the IRS. As is turns out, simplefilings.com is just another sleazy business trying to take advantage of unsuspecting consumers. They may clear a 300% profit for something you can easily do yourself. I was charged nearly $200 for a service (obtaining a tax ID) that is provide by the IRS at irs.gov for FREE. In Tennessee the cost to incorporate your business is $100.00 and is done with a 1 page document that requires nothing more than your name and address. Simple Filings offers to do this for $418.00 I made a mistake as a consumer by not paying better attention to who I was doing business with. Don't make the same mistake I did and avoid being ripped off by simplefilings.com.

| i have made the similar mistake. i was online looking to do social security card name change. First i didn't even notice that i was on private website. i thought i was making Electronic Filing with Social Security Administrator. And i pay for application fee of $35 and service fee for $10. Later that week i try to find out and call social security administrator see if my electronic filing has been summit to the system. And that day I found out the Social security administration office has no such service provide. So i had to go to the Social security office in person to do a submission. Later that day I check my online bank and find out what happened, what I have done and making payment to, It was the simplefilings.com. First I call the company see if they can give a refund due to a misunderstanding. They won’t give me refund. Their statement was providing sample form and advice how to fill the blank, matter of fact the Social Security change name application form itself was very explanatory. I want to know what ever happens to my private information. I think this site has problem. |

| I filed for a new social secuirty card on this website. And paid $39 for something they cannot fulfill--as the Social Security office is the only place to file for and obtain a new card. This is a complete ripoff website that is compiling private information including social security numbers. |

| I just got ripped off today. I needed to replace my son's social security card. I saw the 29.99 but it looked like it said if it was mailed, 10.00 for copying it at home & they charged me 39.00 when I looked at my bank statement. I thought it was a $10.00 charge. I went to pay for it in paypal & I should of known something was up because the amount being charged never showed up like it always does. It makes you think you can take care of it online, but after you pay it says to take the paper to the Social Security Office, or mail it. Plus I thought the same thing, I thought they were affiliated with the government (gov-tax.net/SSN-card). Very deceiving. I saw another site & they said, 19.99 but it was clearly stated & I saw they weren't affiliated with the government that's why I left that site. It's a shame the world has come to this. I don't know how they can sleep at night & the government should be putting a stop to this! Anything that is free by the government, people like these should not be able to profit from it. Don't go to this website. Go to the Social Security Administration website where it's free. |

| So we just did the same thing, I am so mad and concerned about all of the info they have., We are trying to get a replacement card for our daughter and I clicked the first link on Google. So has anyone ever gotten a card or is it really and truly a total scam? Thank God we have Lifelock. |

| Same story, I am reading hundreds of reports of this same story the same company ripping people off for years taking personal info to do god knows what with and still even though there are 104 complaints with the BBB They are stil llisted as a company with good standing Really, sounds like fraud to me |

| I too fell for this scam, filing for a replacement SS card, thinking it was a SS site. After completing the form with personalinformation and submitting it, I realized the mistake when they asked for $48 processing fee. I immediately contacted Equifax to file a possible Identiy Theft alert but obviously worry about my information being out there with this unscrupulous company. |
