Shoprite Bakery The cake I didn't pay for!!!! Philadelphia, Pennsylvania |
30th of Jun, 2011 by User687611 |
I went to Shoprite Bakery on Thursday the 23th of June to order a cake for my son's 5th birthday party which was on Sunday 26th of June, after talking to the decorator and even sending her a picture on her phone so she knew down to a tee what I wanted. She asked me if I wanted to pay partial or in whole, I paid in full and brought back the receipt for $38.99 so she could confirm I paid on my paperwork and I left happy. I come back on Sunday around noon to pick up the cake, one of the other artist came to the counter took my paperwork and brought back "a cake" that was nothing like what I asked for. I end up leaving with the cake and after inspecting the cake alittle more I made a uturn, called the manager and voiced my opinion he told me that they could redo the cake even though the party was now an hour away. I come back into the store and speak to the decorator(not the one I ordered the cake with) she informed me that the decorator I spoke with was on vacation and she basically used her imagination because the other decorator left her no details, nor was she given the picture I sent to the original decorator. I again spoke to the manager who told me they could redo the cake but was told by the bakery that they couldn't because they didn't have the kit(the accessories for the top of the cake) the manager told me he would refund me the amount of the kit(a whopping $7) but no more I argued the fact that the decorator didn't have a clue what she was doing and now I'm being held accountable. He then said "I understand but I can't refund you the amount of the cake and let you take the cake" After an exchange of more words he refunded me $25 of the $38.99 I spent. I just want my money back in full, I had no choice but to take a cake I didn't order, didn't like, and didn't want! I ask the decorator for the accessory kit(kinda like what you see on the right) and ended up getting a $1 store ring on top. Also instead of the cake being carved and the train track going around the cake, the track was on the side of the cake.....have you ever seen a train ride on it's side? |
