| Responded to advertisement from Craigslist 2 for 1 COMPLETE AUTO DETAIL special for 150.00 , when owner Bayard Bodhaine, Jr. arrived he upsold that service to 197.00. He did complete engine detail on one vehicle and partial detail on the other which was "car wash" quality not detailed. His assistant a girl that had never detailed a car before and was likely not an employee just his ride. He said he needed additional product and had a family emergency so he would have to return on another day to complete the job. As a courtesy and out of trust I paid him in full. He Never Returned after that. He made several promises to show up causing us to re-arrange our schedule and take alternative transport and walk so the cars could be available for his return. He never came back, making up excuses and avoiding calls over 2 weeks. I have since found out he has ripped others off and has an "F" bbb.org rating and should have checked this before hiring him. He told us that he had no way to return to do the job but when other people would call him for new business he was available and ready to go, this is when i knew I was being ripped off and lied to. I would highly recommend not to use this service. |

| I am another victim of Bayard Bodhaine -- owner of Shine The Grime. In hindsight, I wish I had done my homework and checked the various on-line reports about him along with his 'F' rating from the BBB. This guy is a professional scam artist. Please be aware and careful. Bayard is very slick and skilled at working his way into your life as he tries to gain your trust. He over sells his services ~ convincing you that you need more work done on your car than necessary. Red flags started to go up when he strongly hinted he needed pain medication. The next time he was more direct in asking if I had any gold jewelry I no longer needed. He took an extra set of my car keys and denied he had done so ~ except when he called and used the excuse of needing to bring back my car keys. Our last conversation was a result of his incessant calling every 30 minutes leaving messages for several hours. He was very direct ~ he asked for money to use to travel to see his mother whom had just had a heart attack. I confronted him on the reports I read about him on line. He replied it was an former employee trying to get back at him. I directly informed him I no longer wanted any contact from him. However, I did discover my 160GB iPod missing after the last time he was at my home working on my car along with an expensive pair of sun glasses. This man is dangerous -- please be aware. I wish I had known what I now know about him. |
