No one involved in this move from Budget to Schneider Vanlines to the name on the truck which was Armstrong had any vested interest in the outcome. It was entirely unprofessional and they refused to look at damage and then sent a claim adjuster with only 2 of the 4 pgs and estimated the cost to repair substantial damage with broken and missing spindles, and damage to antique furniture as minimal (which it was not) and under the deductible that I did not know applied. The driver told me that the $5000 deductible was a form of self insurance before they filed with their insurance company. They expected me to get my own repairs and they paid nothing. They damaged both houses, substantial repairs to the stairs of the house I was selling which of course I had to fix. I am sure the stairs was part of how all my bedroom furniture was damaged. Then at delivery they insisted I tear down my stair railing before they would take the bedroom furniture upstairs. They flipped it over and slid it without any protection across the white carpeting which left both the furniture and the carpet damaged in my new home. I was a woman alone and they sent me for more money to the bank leaving my house unsecured and my possessions with the day labor they hired at the last minute. Uninsured and unboned day labor. The truck arrived at 8 am without any labor arranged and they found these guys at 10:30 and arranged for them to be there at 12 noon. After they arrived and they were unloading they told me they needed another $800 certified and that I had to leave the house and go to the bank or they would not unload my furniture. The place was left a reck and they did not ever finish putting things together and left at 11 pm. In fact I believe this moving scam is common and they marked all of the inventory as damaged on everyside in code at the beginning so they could not be held responsible. The code was tiny and I signed off. When I refused to sign that everything was delivered in good contition the driver and dispatcher yelled at me. None of the above companies cared about my complaint and I filed on both Schneider and Budget and the complaints were not resolved but do not show up on the unsettled claim list so they continue to have a perfect rating. I have pictures and a full write up of the details. This was the professional interstate move I paid about $7000 to have my cherished possessions delivered safely. I could have done better myself! |
