SalvageData Recovery Services is an organization that likes to trick their customers into thinking they have local data recovery labs located throughout the United States. After receiving my drive I found out later that they shipped it from a "Fake" Walnut Creek, California office location to Virginia. Their customer service people are NOT very knowledgeable in any sense. Their team of people seems to be very deceptive and untruthful in every way. They will only tell you the information you "like to hear" and not the God honest truth. My drive was not physically damaged in any way - I just deleted some data and was not able to get it back. I decided to go with a "professional" data recovery company as my data was extremely important to me. After getting my initial diagnostics from Salvage Data Recovery Services, the staff informed me that the read / writes heads were "torn" and that this would involve a lot of work to get my data back. I suspect that because they shipped my drive out of town without my knowledge, this damage probably occurred during transport. I was charged $100.00 for them to diagnose my hard drive, which really sucks because I see now there are other data recovery companies that offer free diagnostics. The only reason I decided to go with SalvageData was because I believed that they were local. Since they lied about having a local lab, I decided not to go with their services. And because my drive was physically damaged, now I will have to pay even more money to a different data recovery company to get my data recovered. Some point and thoughts that I wanted to mention I see that this company is ISO 9001 certified.
If that really is the case, how could this company operate a business in this manner? To lie, cheat and scam customers by any which way they can??? Let me also say this these people must be leaving their own reviews for themselves. Take a look at http://citysquares.com/b/salvagedata-recovery-services-15543004 for example - if you look at the dates and how the reviews are written they are obviously fake. I have been on the Internet now since 1995 and I am not a noob. How can a company with an ISO certification do such deceiving things???
