in 2010 i became mentaly ill was placed in a hospital for 2 weeks. when i got out. i was at home . i got call from safeguard america. safehome security systems. she said crime on the rise needed security. system. i had been chosen to receive free security system and installation. we talked. i asked about upstairs and downstairs window protection she assured me it would be provided. pressured me by saying if i didnt take it today it would be given to someone else. also she promised me i would receic=ve free upgrade to the best system they had. i was worried about the crime said ok. install man came installed electronic boc and door alarms. and motion sensor for my glass doors. it would go off it glass was broke and someone came in. i asked about fire sensors carbon monoxide sensors and top system they had. he said all that wasnt on work order. i complained. he called women. she denied having said that on the phone. an he said initial here and here and sign. being confused and not thinking right i did without reading. he left i had trouble using it. four days later my son came and helped me. he said dad you cant use thes motion sensors while your in the house . its only when your not here. i have glass doors.so the door open alarms dont even mater if they used or not. i finally did read the contract and learned the i couldntcancel now. had to pay 36.99 a month for three years. for a security system i couldnt even use. also the woman said i would get 20 percent off my home insurance.that wasnt true either. i only got 5 percent i was expecting to pay abot 10 to 20 a month. i had trouble paying the bill which was on auto pay i got overdraft. i went to bank and the branch manager said she would help try to get contract cancelled. she called safe home got a supervisor he said fax report where i had been in the hospital. he would send it to cancellations for review. this went on with days and weeks and months going by. no action was taken. i got involved. asked for decision. i was told they had checked the papers i had signed. aand they were in order. there would beno cancellation. as far as i know they didnt even read the report from the hospital whick was seveal pages. the report clearly states. thati was incapable of making any decisions. and was suffering from delusion hallucunations ect.. i called supervisor he told me there was nothing that could be. done. i told them i havent even used. the system i have glass doors its unplugged and in the closet. he said thats ok your still going to pay us for monoriting this compay doesnt care if they provide you with a fair service for your money. they are con artists use pressure tactics. bait and switch tactics deception. delaying tactics.. they have legal department on contract it says they hire a lawyer to sue you with if you dont pay. there is nothing i can do but pay for a system i cant even use. i am depressed under stress my wife is very ill. i provideconstant care for her. i try not to think about this as i dont want to go back to the hospital. watch out for this company and others like it always read contracts. dont believe a word anyone says unless its in writing and you have a copy. dont be pressured into a hasty decision.i aqm on the national do not call list now.i still et calls though. unhappy alan.
