RPM Auto Sales (Lansing) Poor Customer Service and Car Repair Lansing, Michigan |
14th of Dec, 2011 by User235968 |
I bought a 2002 Pontiac Aztek from RPM Auto Sales September 20, 2011 and I signed a contract with them for financing the car. I was told to schedule an appointment with Lansing Auto, which is combined to RPM in the back, to fix anything that I noticed was wrong with the car and anything they could find that was wrong. My repair date was October 6, 2011 with Lansing Auto and before I got a chance to take my car in, on October 3, 2011, I called them to let them know that my gas hand was wonder, my check engine light had come on, the AWD disabled light came on, and water from the rain had sunk into the roof of my car somehow. They rushed me off the phone by stating that my appointment was that Thursday, October, 6, 2011 and to just tell them what was wrong then. The very next day, October 4, 2011, I noticed that my car would make a horrible grinding sound whenever I pressed on the breaks, so that very day, I drove my car to RPM after work and the sales person that sold me a car stated that he was not a machanic, how would he know what's wrong with my car. So there on, he had me take the car down the street to another machanic shop and they guy states that my brakes are horrible and her replaces them, free of charge. On October 6, 2011 I went to my original appointment with Lansing Auto at 8am and they did not start working on my car til about 9:30/10:00. The lead machanic stated that my left wheel bearing was bad and he told one of the other machanics to fix it, give me an oil change, and they were suppose to fix the gas hand and the check engine light. I waited in there sitting area til about 2:30 missing 2 1/2 hours of work because they were not done. When the time came for me to leave, the machanic that was working on my car changed the wrong wheel bearing and there was a faint clunking noise coming from the back. They stated to come back the following day and they will fix the correct wheel bearing and anything that they had not done. I go back the following day after work, at 3:00, and they fix the correct wheel bearing and sends me on my way. A week later, I find that my gas hand is still wondering, my check engine light came back on, and my AWD disable light came back on. I ignored it for the time that I could until November. On November 17, 2011 my sister stated to me that my tires were completely flat, so I went to go look and my male cousin asked how long have I had the car because the tred on the tires is completely gone and on a couple on the tires the inside of them, by the rim, had torn somehow and i was unable to put air in them, so I ended up buy two new tires. That following day, which was a Friday, I drove to the gas station to put gas in my car and when I tried to start the car back up, it would not start at all. i waited for about 15 minutes before I tried again and it sputtered to start. I was told from a different machanic that I need to replace the belt in the engine because it would make a hissing sound when it was just sitting and a scratching sound when I would start it up. On December 14, 2011 I was driving my car and the rear of my car started to sway back and forth making a horrible clunking sound, causing me to pull over to check it out. I drove the car back home and when I got out of the car, there was a horrible burning smell coming from the back of the car. I took the car back up to RPM and the same sales man had the lead machanic from Lansing Auto come up to drive my car to see what was wrong with it; we did not make it from the front dorr before he said he ws going to put it up and check it out. About 30 minutes later he stated that my rear, right, wheel bearing was horrible and he should myself and the person that was with me how wobbly and unstable it was. He told me I could get it fixed for $212 and I was like no, you guys stated that was one of the problems before, I don't understand how one wheel bearing goes bad one month and then 3 months later the same thing happens. If you guys were going to fix something, do the complete job and dont half do it. I was extremely mad, they guy wrote me uup for taking the car off the lot because he said it was dangerous to continue to drive it, RPM did not offer me a vichicle until my car was fixed, and I ended up getting it fixed by a family machanic and I pai $56 for the part after the discount and $75 for labor. I asked the finance department at RPM what could I do if I did not want the care anymore and they said nothing, I would have to pay even if I did not have the car in my possession, and come to find out they financed me for $5,000 over the limit of what the car was worth. I went back up to RPM to pay my car payment and there were a few people in there and I could overhear them talking about what's gone wrong with their car and why didn't the cars have prices on them. The same guy that sold me my car stated to 3 people that he would sell them the car that they want for 8500 at 75 a week and 800 down, I realized then that they are a bunch of scam artist that are getting over on people because he stated those EXACT words to me. |
