We were happy with our initial furniture purchase until it was actually “deliveredâ€. The delivery personnel refused to setup furniture in our master bedroom as it had been painted several hours earlier (it was a brand new home that we had just purchased). It was an excuse, but we accepted it for what it was and moved on. I told them it was fine as long as there were instructions and hardware inside the boxes. There were neither. They had also damaged one of the pieces and refused to bring it into the home stating simply “we would be called about itâ€. It took a week to get instructions to figure out what was missing. After I told the customer service people about which hardware kits were missing from my order, I was promised that it would be shipped out to me overnight. It never came. I asked for a tracking number. It was “lostâ€. The hardware kit was “sent†twice supposedly. It never came either time it was promised. Instead, I drove to Lowes with a printed copy of the instructions, and bought everything needed to put together the furniture myself. After another week or two, and still no word on the damaged item, I called again, this time irate. I was finally told that my delivery/setup charges would be refunded, as well as the amount I had spent at Lowes. We received a check totaling $237.19. That check BOUNCED 2 days later. Attempts have been made for weeks to discuss the matter, and find a cause, and a resolution. We have been ignored at every turn, and not once received a return phone call when promised. We were always the ones to initiate any interaction. To date we have spoken with multiple people at the customer loyalty group, several people including the store manager at the Austin location that we made the initial purchase, and up to a lady simply known as “Myoko†at the corporate office who would not provide a last name. ALL of these people insist that it is being handled by someone above their head, and that they are not allowed to give a name, number, or contact information. I am promised each time that they will have this person call me.... 5 weeks later, and I still have yet to get that call. NOW... i am being hung up on when i call the corporate office. i was transferred to "Myoko" only to have her answer, here my voice, and promptly hang up on me. when i called back, it went straight to voicemail. I am done attempting to settle this amicably. I have notified my local news station in Houston who said they were interested in airing the story on a local consumer army segment they do, and i have sent the paperwork needed by the Harris county DA in order to file criminal charges. |
