Riverton Hyundai/Suzuki
Riverton Hyundai/Suzuki Riverton Motors Lied To Me and Took My Money Sandy, Utah
14th of Sep, 2011 by User996293
I took my car in for diagnostics at my appointment time (10:00AM). I was told I would be called before any work was done to my vehicle that was not covered under my warranty. I thanked them and left. Over four hours later (after 2PM), I heard from the services department. I was told my repairs would total over $1200, and I was told I should look elsewhere for services/repairs. I agreed. I went to pick up my car and was given a PRE-INVOICE and told I owed over $90. I asked, "For what?" It was for "labor" only to turn off an airbag light. I asked if it was covered under warranty and I was told no. I said I was not called about this (and I would be called before any work was done that was not under warranty), and I did not approve it. The mechanic then pointed to the document I signed for diagnostics and said, "Is this your signature?" He then said that I approved the work because I signed a form for DIAGNOSTICS. I continued to say that I did not give authorization for the work that was done. I had a friend go with me who heard: (1) I would be called to authorize any charges not covered by my warranty
(2) The telephone call about the $1200 in charges which I declined (the telephone call was on speakerphone) After telling the mechanic that I did not authorize the charges, the mechanic then said that it did not "matter" because I had a "$100 deductible" on my warranty so the $90 in "labor" would not have been covered by the warranty anyway. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I am going to file a consumer complaint with the Attorney General for the state. I am also looking for an attorney who specialists in car repair fraud. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

Riverton Hyundai will do anything to get out of having to do a warranty repair! They would not cover my broken axle because they said the boot was torn. How am I supposed to know the boot was torn? I don't get under my car! THEY DO!!! They have done all of the oil changes, maintainence checks and safety inspections since I bought my car in 2006! If they didn't know the boot was torn, how am I supposed to know the boot is torn until the damage is done?? THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY!!! They sell the cars based on the 10yr 100K mile warranty and then snake their way out of it!! RIVERTON HYUNDAI IS A DISHONEST ESTABLISHMENT!!! I am guessing from the way business has died over there they are close to shutting down. Not surprising! They have a gotten rid of all of the knowledgable (and no doubt honest) people in the service dept and replaced them with a bunch of snot nosed kids who give you nothing but attitude. The entire place; sales floor, service dept, etc is a ghost town!! Perhaps it is due to the awful service they provide and the lack of honor in dealing with their clients.
