When I contacted the company on the 28-29 of December, I specifically requested that the car needed
to be delivered on the Houston location on the third of january and that the vehicle could be pick up any date
starting from the 29 th. This is what I agree on, and that was my expectation.
On december 31st., I received a email from the company that the truck and driver was dispatched. In that email, it was the first time that jan. 4th. appeared as the drop-off date. When I called the company I got assurance that the vehicle was goingto be picked up on the 3rd., and most likely be drop off on the 3rd, and at most on the 4th. before noon (which was going to be very unlikely, according to them).
On the 3rd., I didn't hear anything from the driver or dispatcher. I have to call them. When I finally got the driver, he toldus that he was on his way to Galveston (at about 12 pm) to drop off some vehicles, that he wanted to pick up my car on the 4th.
He was told that the vehicle needed to be picked up on the 3rd. Calling Rite way, they gave me their word that the car was going to be pick up on the 3rd. and delivered before noon the following day.
Later I try to contact him from 3 to 8 pm.
He told us that he couldn't pick it up the 3rd. that he could pick it up on the 4th.
My response was that on the 4th. would be ok but he should be at most at 7 am because I was leaving to Austin. The driver suggested me to drop off the keys to a neighbor which was not possible. When I called the company, they said that they were going to contact the driver.
I was back and forth for about four hours, the driver saying that he was going to contact the company and the company that they were going to contact the driver. In all this time, I never received any assurance from neither the driver nor the dispatching company that they were going to be before 7 am on the 4th, much worse that he was going to pick it up on the 3rd.
At about 8 pm, I called the dispatcher and cancelled the order. (The driver told us one hour before to leave the keys of the car with a neighbor, so it was impossible that he was on his way to pick up my car)
I needed the car to be delivered by noon on the 4th because I had a container waiting to be loaded, and I was going to be charged waiting time if the car arrived after 12 pm. With the service, and the going back and forth with the driver and dispatcher I had no confidence that the car will arrive on the 4th before noon. Later, I have to drive the car to Austin to drop off my wife, then to Houston to drop off the car, take a cab to Hobby airport, and from Hobby airport the groundshuttle that goes from Houston to College Station.
