Through our appliance insurance company, Rite-Away Plumbing was called to fix our kitchen faucet. The repairman came in two days to look at the faucet and said he would have to replace the entire faucet. He would have to get it from his warehouse, if they had one; otherwise, he would have to order one. We received no follow-up calls. Week one, we called and were told they were trying to find a faucet like ours. My husband told them that it didn't have to be exact, we just needed a faucet which was leaking and causing our water bill to increase. Week Two, we had to call again, and was told they were still looking. We called our insurance company who also said they called them, but had been unable to reach them. Week Three, we had to call again, and were told they would check on it and get back to us. We received no return call or follow-up call. Week 4, we called our insurance company and requested they hire another service. We were told they had a contract with that company that once an order was made, that company had to complete the order. I told them that if service was not being done, it was a breach of contract. We will had to use Rite-Away Plumbing. Week five, we spoke with the plumbing company who said that we had told them we wanted the exact faucet. My husband nor I told them that. We wanted a faucet and it didn't have to be exact. Week 6, I spoke to the insurance company who indicated they spoke to the plumbing company and they had just ordered a faucet for us. Week 7, still no follow-up calls from the company or our insurance. After a complaint was made to the insurance company, we were told that the company had found a faucet and had ordered it, but received the wrong one. Finally at the end of Week 7, we received a call and on week 8, our faucet was fixed. Our water bill went from the usual $60.00/month to $134.00. It took this company 8 weeks to find a faucet (which was not exact) and it took my husband and I only 5 minutes to find one similar to ours on line. Really--eight weeks to replace a faucet! |
