Rite A Way Services Inc Scamming Company to the max!! Riverside, California |

Our water heater was leaking and luckily we had our home warranty company, First American Home Buyers Protection which had a $55 deductible. They referred us to Rite Away Services out of Riverside. On the first scheduled appointment for them to remove the water heater, they never even showed up! My husband missed worked waiting for them. When we called to complain, they didn't even seem to care. We spoke with Christy. Then, the next day they were 3.5 hours late! Again, making my husband miss day 2 of work. They asked us to pay $175 for taking it away. We informed them that disposal, removal and haul away was covered through the warranty. They said we need to pay or else they would leave it in our garage. We were very upset but paid the $175. The plumbers name was Chris and the Manager we spoke to is Marcos. Then 2 days later, when they came to install the water heater, they scratched it putting it in, left the water on so the walls and wood got all wet. Again, they didn't seem to care but laughed about it. They said we needed to pay another $375 for "modifications," and "code." But our warranty covered up to $250 to bring things up to code and complete installation. The drip pan that was "supposedly" not up to code was too big for the pedestal. Instead of bringing back one that fit, they shoved it in, damaging the dry wall and leaving us with a drip pan that was banged up and dented all over. Again, they didn't care. Then, the technician didn't have the correct parts to tie in the emergency overflow pipe or the straps with him (the same parts that were included in the $375 that they wanted to charge us). He said he'd come back Monday to finish. He never came back! And when we called Monday afternoon, Christy said he'd come Tuesday. And he never showed up Tuesday! So we paid another plumber to finish the job. This company is a TOTAL scam! I also complained with our warranty company and will now be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau. I asked the owner, Roland, to call me back several times and no one has ever returned my call. Don't make the same mistake we did, get someone else. And do your research. If we had checked this site and similar sites, we wouldn't have agreed to this contracter. And now we're stuck with the bill. |
