As my two friends and I were leaving Townhouse (bar in downtown Sacramento) for the night, one of the security workers stopped my friend and asked to see what he had in his jacket. My friend had nothing but keys in his jacket (maybe the guard thought he was trying to steal a glass - not sure). My friend showed the security guard that there was only keys in his inside pockets with a bit of an attitude - he was, needless to say, caught off guard. The security guard said, "You're a fairy, huh?" and "I should beat your ass, you fairy." He called my friend a "fairy" at least two or three more times after this and continued to mouth off (can't remember now what he was saying) as we were walking away from the situation. My friends and I were admittedly mouthing off back to this man - a few "F bombs" were thrown out, however, we were justifiably angry at this point. This particular security guard was an African-American male (I did not catch his name). There was another security guard caucasian male standing nearby, watching the incident and laughing. During this time, I had been drinking and was not thinking about the seriousness of the situation - the man was making threats to physically attack a person and expressed his homophobia WHILE ON THE JOB. This complaint is not about the fact that my friend was stopped. Obviously, these men were extremely unprofessional, and I have spent a few hours this week trying to figure out how to contact the company, but the phone number I got from a different Ripoff Report was disconnected. I have been going to Townhouse for fun off and on for a while now, and have never had to deal with anything like this, and I can only assume that its management are just as disguested as we are about this man and it may be in their best interest to not contract with this security company anymore, or, at the very least, not with these individuals to possibly avoid a lawsuit. I am very serious about following through on this complaint and will continue trying to make contact until contact is made. I thought these guys were supposed to be keeping the peace, not making physical threats to hurt someone and being outwardly homophobic!
