Over a year ago an employee at my business got a call and the caller said they were verifying our address for a delivery of credit card machine paper. She did not authorize any purchase, she only verified the address. A few days later we received a package and it was signed by the same employee, also not knowing who ordered it, it is not her job to question these things. I became aware of this package which contained some rolls of credit card machine paper and some magnetic stripe cleaners. A few weeks later we received a bill for around $280, it has been a while so I don't remember exactly, but it was way too much for what was sent. I tried to call and let them know we did not order this but all I got was an answering machine. I left a message and didn't hear back. I forgot about this since it was the least of my concerns. Some time later they started to call the business asking when we were going to pay the bill. I talked to a lady and explained the situation and asked her to send a call tag for the box. The lady told me she could not send a call tag since it was past the time we could return it. Conveniently enough they never returned my call within the time they said was allowed for return. I told her if she sent the call tag I would be happy to return the package since we did not order it and did not want their over priced paper. She said they would not send a call tag and I told her I would not pay to ship it back. She hung up on me. Over the next few months I kept getting calls from a collection agency and they used very harsh tactics. One lady was soooooo rude I couldn't believe it. She finally pushed me to anger and I blew up. She said she recorded it and would use it against me because she had proof I was combative and hostile. After that I would not talk to them anymore. This was over a year ago and I just got a call today from a collection agency and the guy was very polite but I told him my only comment was that the company was deceptive and I would not respond. He said he would make a note of that. |
