I purchased a pair of high waisted wide leg jeans that was advertised on ETSY.com by the seller RenzStyle (she also goes by Yong Custom and Custom Fashion on other internet websites). She sent my purchase to me within 2 weeks after I ordered them. As soon as I received them, I could tell just by looking at them that they were too big. I immediately emailed RenzStyle as well as internet messaged her to let her know. I told her that I dearly love the jeans however they are too big. I asked if I could exchange them for a smaller size she said yes, no problem (she did indicate on her listing that ALL returns are accepted so I didn't think it would be a problem). I told her that I would put them back into the mail to her the following day and if she would kindly just let me know when she receive them I also told her that I will gladly pay for the new shipping charge, she said okay. She sent me a physical address (in San Diego, CA) to return the jeans to her. I sent the jeans certified mail (which gave me a tracking #). In about 4 days, I emailed her just to check and see if she had received them she said no, but that she had already started making the new size for me. After about a week I emailed her asking if she had received the jeans yet, and she said yes. She said that she hasn't mailed the new jeans to me yet, but she will shortly. After about another week, I contacted her and asked the status.. she did not reply back. I then sent her a message through the internet conversations she still did not reply back. I waited a few more days and just resent the same messages.. and still no reply. I then contacted Etsy and they instructed me to file a non delivery claim and I did. Over the next month, I sent RenzStyle email after email pleading with her to do the right thing and contact me. I even sent her an email telling her that if she needed additional money to complete my jeans, I would gladly send it to her still I did not hear back from her. To date (Friday, January 21st, 2011) I have not heard from this seller in about 2 months. I contacted PayPal to try and get a refund and they told me that since the 45 days for a refund had expired, there is nothing at all that they could do for me. Etsy told me that the only thing that they could do is terminate her account on their site and she will no longer be able to sell on there anymore. The sellers know the GAME.. All they do is string customers along up to midnight on the 45th day (the time frame that PayPal will refund your money) and after that the seller just disappear. All they do then is go to another website and sell under a different name. The bottom line is this, as long as Etsy and PayPal are getting paid, they care nothing at all about us (the buyers). I will never ever do business with either one of them again AND I will share this to every last person I know and every person I meet after this. This is a true story and I have EVERYTHING documented as well as copies of every email, internet message, mailing receipts, EVERYTHING. I am now in the process of contacting the small claims court in San Diego Yes, I live in Atlanta but I have to go to court in California, and that's perfectly okay, I love California and I have so many friends and family out there, so I will use this as a chance to go to California as well as taking care of this business. It's not at all about the money, it's the total principle behind this entire situation. Whatever else is needed from me to get this posted, please do not hesitate to contact me. |
