I entered RBI in Sept of 2009 as a part-time student. Things were wonderful, my advisor called often to make sure things were going well. The staff and campus manager seemed pleasant and attentive. About 4 months into the program our campus underwent some changes to the student handbook and staff. My Instructors changed 3 times, I took it as a new school getting the kinks out.
Upon these changes, the campus manager became less involved and was unattainable. about 8 months into school we had no active campus manager. When we did receive our new campus manager she was polite and seemed to take care of our complaints. However we were deceived. Upon her withdrew as campus manager every single complaint of (i.e missing services, test's we knew we took) it had not been recorded properly and therefore we received no credit for them. How frustrating this was to find out that all the work you had done was all in vain and you would receive no credit for those services.
Also, Instructors were lazy when it came to the campus floor (where services where done on live models) you would do a series of services on mannequins and would find a week later that the instructor assigned to the floor that week had not placed your services in. As a student I felt and still feel that this is inconsiderate and pure laziness when it comes to an instructors duties and responsibilities. How would you like to work all week and not get a pay check. These instructors have been to cosmetology school and have obtained their license I am trying to do the same and they in a sense raped me of my work, took my services that I knew I had completed.
Now to the real issue at hand. My program end date was Dec 29. 2010 which means I would have been in school for 15 months (part-time takes longer) no one in the month of Dec nor the prior month came to me to talk about me meeting my agreement end date and if I was close to finishing my services by that end date and if not how they could help me get there or at least by my 1500hrs mark. I met with the campus manager about Dec 21.2010 to discuss said issue and she wrote what services were needed for me to be complete with the program. I worked hard and diligent with the help of classmates to achieve the completion of these services. I took my final (exit exam) at my 1500hr markom Jan 19, 2011 and no one followed up with me.
I called the school about a week later to find out what was going on and they tell me that I had not completed my services. I then called headquarters to file a complaint and I got the run around, they would not give me the phone numbers or email addresses of those higher in rank that I could talk to. I kept complaining and no results or rather I did get results but they were being evil, They would add on to my service requirements stating at one moment I had 24 things to complete and then at a later time it would be 41 to complete. The more I complained the more they attached unfinished services that I KNOW I completed.
This school is unfair, they tell you it;s about you the student and it's not it's about money how they can keep you there past your agreement end date or your 1500hr mark to make you pay $5.00 an hr to come back to complete your services. They want to rip you off for money and talk to you and treat you any kind of way once they get you in. Do not go to this school. It's beautiful in appearance but will turn and bite you in the end.
