Regal Upholstery and Drapery |
Very dishonest business man. Scams customers |

I called the Better Business Bureau in Las Vegas for a good upholsterer with no complaints. They recommended Regal Upholstery located at 4335 W Charleston Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada 89102. I did an oral contract to reupholster my sofa and to use goose down in the cushions. I picked out a velvet material. I paid Robert O'Neill, the owner of this family owned business $2,200 and instead of goose down in the cushions, he used batting which is used in toys. The upholstery job was worse than anyone could imagine. I didn't have a chance to examine the sofa when two employee's delivered my reupholstered sofa to my house. I paid the remaining $1,500 by cashier's check and the two men ran out of my house. As soon as they left, I examined the sofa. The sofa was dirty, had not been covered on the delivery truck and the velvet material was used. I checked the cushions and they were filled with batting. Robert O'Neill refused to refund me my money. I ended up suing him and my case was dismissed in court, when I should have won. Robert O'Neill and his sister lied and the Judge believed him. Besides all of that, Robert O'Neill didn't have a Henderson Nevada Business license when I hired him. The Judge without seeing the bad upholstery job, called it minimun industry standards and ignored the Henderson, Nevada City ordinance that says you have to have a business license to do business in the City Of Henderson. Robert O'Neill applied for a Henderson Business license after the fact. I am going to attempt to appeal, even though I missed the eight days one has to appeal. Regal Upholstery and Drapery is a fraud. These people will take your money and give you shoddy workmanship. They don't stand behind their workmanship. I should have had everything in writing, but I trusted them because the Better Business Bureau recommended them. What an expensive lesson. |
