Name: Rachel G. Merritt ( ) Alias: Rachel Griffing ( ) Date of Birth: September 4, 19xx Address: xxx Exchange Pkwy Apt 53xx; Allen, TX 75002 Ms. Merritt is an employment staffing recruiter for Kelly Services on-site at Broadridge Financial Solutions in Coppell, Texas. Shortly after my hiring, I was told by her that employees get a one-hour lunch break and half of that hour would be paid by Kelly Services. After about my fifth paycheck, I noticed that a full hour of my lunch break was deducted during each of the days I worked during the week prior. I checked with other Kelly employees, and they reported the same issue. This continued on with several subsequent paychecks. It was not very long that I quit out of frustration at this job. How I wondered why she would say one thing and do something else? After running a background check on Rachel Griffing Merritt, it turns out that her credibility may be in question as several criminal records with the state of Texas came up during a search. Records show that on November 9, 2009, Ms. Merritt was charged with " ," a crime that occurred on June 9, 2009. Issuance of bad checks, a form of fraud, is a violation of Section 32.41 of the Texas Penal Code and is classifed as a Class B misdemeanor. A warrant for her arrest as issued against her on November 16, 2009. Approximately two months later on January 19, 2010, she paid a bond to satisfy the arrest warrant, even though she was not taken into custody, and was ordered to appear in court the very next month. When she failed to appear in court to face her charge on February 10, the court then seized her bond. In August 2010, after waiving her right to an attorney, she was convicted of this crime and placed on 6 months probation. Ms. Merritt was ordered to pay a $237.00 fine in this case. Other court records show that on January 26, 2010, Ms. Merritt was cited for " " of a minor, a violation of Section 25.093 of the Texas Education Code. She pleaded "no contest" later that year to that misdemeanor charge and was assessed a fine of $160.00. Then on January 3, 2011, Ms. Merritt received a misdemeanor citation in the amount of $200.00 for " " after receiving a notice of non-payment. That toll violation occurred nearly a year prior on January 26, 2010. If you plan to work for her, be aware that she has legal issues that may affect her ability to perform her job duties as staffing service recruiter at Kelly Services. The facts that she failed to appear in court on her bad check charge, allowed a minor to forgo attendance of school, and willfully failed to pay a toll are good indications that she is a repeat offender with total disregard for the law and for your rights as an employee. She may attempt to defraud you or is currently defrauding her other employees. Carefully, look over your paychecks for any indications of payroll discrepancies. |
