PugHearts of Houston Pug Hearts of Houston Pug Rescue REFUSED TO LET ME SEE IF THEY HAD MY PUGS AFTER THEY WERE TAKEN, BLOCKED ME FROM THEIR WEBSITE, |

My two pugs were taken on May 26, 2009. I immediately contacted PugHearts Houston and spoke to the owner Cindy Rothermel. She asked me questions so that she could identify my boys if PugHearts had them. I told her particulars about them. When she found out that (a) I had NOT neutered either of them, and (2) one was the father of the other, she got quite upset with me. Thus afterwards, things didn't seem right. I was informed at that time that I was a bad Pug owner since I did not neuter my pugs and especially because I allowed Chief to breed ONCE! She let me know immediately that I would NOT be eligible to adopt ANY of their pugs. Little did I know, that even meant my own! When I asked to see particular pugs that I thought may be mine, she made excuses as to why I could not see them. I made attempts to go where PugHearts Houston would be (social events, adoptions, etc...) and I still was not able to see the Pugs. Then the next thing I know, I can no longer get to PugHearts website. I was completely blocked. I sent Cindy messages and called her and she never answered any of them. A few days ago, I stumbled across PugHearts facebook page, and requested to join the group. I was allowed. I posted a still missing photo, and right away, my post was deleted. So a few days later, I tried it again... Same result only this time, she blocked me completely from the Group. I can no longer get to her facebook page or website unless I use one of my other family members accounts. I saw a pug that has been adopted. His name was Zack and he was adopted by Jenny Truong. I am almost positive that this pug is Chief, but since I am NOT allowed to post anything, I guess I will never know... I just want my pugs back, and want others to know to call a DIFFERENT PUG RESCUE GROUP - life DFW or just another rescue group. Do NOT send anymore Pugs to PugHearts as they will NOT return them to their rightful owners. |

I bought a pug 12 years ago and paid $500.00 dollars. His parents were two AKC parents. That did not prevent my pug puppy from having a host of medical problems. That cost me $1, 000.00 to fix. So breeding two good dogs does not guarantee a good puppy. I guess we don't have a license to have children, nor a license to have puppies and sell them . But, for me a person should have a breeding license. Breeding is a science, not a hobby. Not, just to have cute puppies around.
Now, you didn't say why the pugs were taken away in the first place. So, I will have to be on the rescue's side for that.
Neutering a male dog prevents the male from having testicular cancer. And, also adds many years to the life of the dog. It also prevents unwanted or bad stock puppies. We just had four pug puppies dropped off at the animal shelter. They were to be put to sleep, but were saved by a local shelter.
Now, if you had proved that you had a suitable home for the pugs, paid the shelter for their care then they may have given you back your pets. But, you likely yelled and screamed, thus turning off any chance you may have had to get them back.
Don't blame the rescue, be thankful these dogs got a good home, and they didn't get put to sleep. |
