Shopping at Publix supermarket To whom it may concern; I am disabled and receive social security . on may 06,2011 at 9:40pm i went to the deli department in the Publix market on 66th street and 38th ave in st. petersburg florida and requested 1/4 rotisserie chicken breast and wing, the deli rep. put the chicken on the counter came back to me and asked "why don't you buy the whole chicken" i informed her that i don't eat the leg of any animal ie. the chicken leg and if i did buy it it would be a waste of my money since i would throw it away so why should i waste food since publix sells the rotisserie chicken breast and wing? in addition its my money and i'll do as i please. three minutes have passed and i still have not received what i requested, a second deli rep. comes over and tells me the deli rep is only trying to help , i tell her i appreciate all the help and i still want the rotisserie breast and wing only, keep in mind ten minutes have passed i have not received my order and the store is almost empty , i looked around to the deli rep. who was suppose to be preparing my order and noticed that she hasn't prepared my order. i asked where is my order.and again she offers me the whole chicken, again i request the rotisserie breast and wing,by this time a third deli rep. approaches me and asked if there is a problem , i tell her i'm the only one at the counter and after 15 minutes these employees are telling me how they think i should spend my money and grocery shop. i informed them that i would speak to the store manager , i went to the check out area and requested the store manager and some woman told me she was the store manager, i explained to her in detail what had transpired in the deli department and that i was totally disrespected and still my order was not done; by the time i had finished talking to her my order was ready,i return to the check out and purchased the other two items that i had and decided not to buy the chicken out concern for my health in other words, i did not trust the conduct of the deli rep who handled the chicken. enclosed is the receipt of purchase with the time i was checked out. in ending i personally would not wish anyone one disabled or not, to be treated in such a manner or to be badgered into buying something as i was regardless of whatever. i choose to remain anonymous in order to avoid any further problems and or retaliation in the future. i will follow this up with a phone call to publix corporate office.
