Everyone who gets an email or a phone call from an unknown company that they have never heard of their first reaction is to Google the name of the business. And it was mine as well. I worked for psi for a number of months and every morning i woke up something did NOT feel right!! This is coming from someone who was one of the "Top Dogs" in the company. When i first started the job everyone i knew was trying to get me to quit, and i should have taken their advice. I want everyone to know who gets a call back from psi marketing that it IS indeed a SCAM!! I started by getting a call from them and they invited me in for my first of 3 interviews, which was with Sarah Ward. The way she judges you on whether she will give u a second interview is by looks and age. It never has a single thing to do with experience and or talent in "selling" . For the second interview you are in a room with about 7 or 8 other people and you. Sarah will tell you that she is going to interview 20 other people, which is a lie. I, like most people in that office had no experience in selling anything. And i wish i had some, the reason being is that they teach you how to lie, not sell. When you get your second interview you go out to be a door to door saleswoman/ salesmen and get no pay with the person who got the luckiest the previous day( the person who tricked the most people into buying from you). The whole day you " Lead Account Executive" questions you about stupid little stuff to get to know you and see what your work experience is. And to see if the person "likes" you. Now if you get through the day and you dont decide to do the smart thing and quit while your ahead you automatically get the third interview. In that interview you will sit in the lobby and one of the best liars and they will entertain you while the person you went out with will decide whether to keep you or kick you. If everything goes well you will sit down and talk to Sarah Ward and she will just bs with you for a while. That night they will give you a call and tell you that you got the job in a childish manor by giving pauses and what not. And then you go through training and thats where it all seems sketchy. Sarah pays attention and favors all the females in the office and she gives them the better of everything. If she doesnt like you she will try to get rid of you by giving you a terittory where a lot of solicitors are. After training you sit down for coffee for Sarah to tell you some bullshit story about how she got lucky and became a manager and how she owns 5 offices and all that crap and how you can make all this money. Another thing i thought was sketchy was that she says that no one has ever been fired because of proformance which is a lie. Once training and the start of the lies are over you get into your sketchy terrtitory and you are taught to lie to everyone you come across in your day. If you do well you are on top of the world and if you dont make any money for the day they all treat you like shit. But no matter what DO NOT EXPECT A CHECK FOR AT LEAST 4 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They do not pay you for training or anything for at least 4 weeks. Oh, and the non existing health benefits that she promises do not exist. So dont get sick or you will pay out the ass. Sketchy? Id say so. The people in the office are a story of their own. Most of the guys are good genuine people but all the women are under Sarahs rule and she favors them so they all have mental issues. The women are all just flirty and they do well. But all in all i dont want to drag this out I just want anyone who reads this to understand that everything they do in that building and out of that building are all lies. Stay away no matter what unless you like to be cheated. PSI MARKETING OF CASSELBERRY FLORIDA IS A SCAM!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!

Hi

It is funny to me that this person is posting this lies about the company I work for, it always happens when eithter they dont get the job after the second interview or they just lazy and want easy money or god knows what. I have worked for this company for the last 8 months and it is a great place good oportunity I would say not easy at all but not a scam cenrtanly not a scam. Usually the type of people that would post something like this is the ones that quit and want to collect unemployment!!! And the best part they do this type of things behind the shield of a website without giving name, or info. I'm telling the truth if you have more questions shoot me an email [email protected] I would be more than happy to answer all your questions with real facts not lies.

I'm a Manager with his own company and I got all from working hard and busting my a** every single day of my life, it really makes me mad that people post stuff like this complaining about how they got fired or lost their jobs because 1 they are liars or 2 they didn’t work hard enough!!! I can't believe that someone has the time to write all this garbage instead of working towards something productive. As an owner and employer how would you feel if somebody posted some bs like this? without you having the chance to defend and prove yourself?
By the way did I mentioned that I was promoted Asst. Manager and then Manger to open my own company from PSI Marketing? Work hard and it would pay of at the end, waste your time crying about your pathetic life and you are going to be an employee the rest of your life.

I've interviewed with them before. I'll tell you exactly how it goes.

Are they a scam?

Not sure. They aren't necessarily scamming the people interviewing. Are they scamming the "customers"? Maybe. It's really hard for me to say.

However here's how it went down with me. I interviewed with them a few months back. Every word of this is true and not meant to be slanderous to anyone involved in any way. If I had concrete evidence that this was a scam, or harmful to people I'd call someone that could do something about it.

They called me and told me they were interested in having me come in, to interview. Ok fair enough. I asked what they sold and where they got my information, and what the rate of pay was. Her exact answers were that they sold T Mobile phone service Business to Business, Career Builder, and $500 per wk + commission. That doesn't sound too bad right? Depending on what the commission looks like. So I took the interview to get some more answers.

In the interview she told me that they were doing preliminary interviews and that they would discuss exact compensation at the 2nd interview if there was one. Again fair enough. She also re iterated that it was B2B sales, which was really important to me. She said T Mobile had contracted them out to hire sales reps for their B2B division since they didn't have a B2B division already...???? (really?)

So we got through all that and they called me back later that day and asked me to come in a few days later for a 2nd interview / Training Session. It was an all day session (8:30 - 6:30 or something like that) This was a few months ago so I can't remember the exact times, but it was an all day thing.

So I came into the 2nd interview. This was against my better judgment. It really seemed fishy. I've never really actively been job hunting. I've been employed my entire life. But it seemed really odd to me to have an all day 2nd interview that was on the job training at the same time. Also this all day 2nd interview / training session was not paid. Which I knew ahead of time. I'm not complaining about that. They cleared that with me before hand.

Anyway, I went and was paired up with a few of their sales people that I traveled with for the day. The sales people were nice enough. They were just doing the job they had been hired to do, but there was something not right about this. They didn't carry business cards, or identification. ? Their reasoning to the customers that asked for a business card was that the promotions were only available for that day so there wasn't any use carrying the business cards. I don't believe that for a minute. When prompted for ID they were able to produce it from their pockets though. They didn't display their i.d.'s as you would think they should. They claimed to be authorized T-Mobile Reps. Which may or may not be true. I'm not exactly sure. I didn't see any evidence to prove that one way or another. They did on a few occassions, when asked who they were with, answered "T-Mobile". Which is certainly not true. They were from PSI Marketing, not T-Mobile.

They claimed to be B2B sales, but really what it was was cold calling businesses and trying to sell the phone service to the employees. They never really tried to, or got to any managers in order to sell service to the work force or anything like that. It was always the one person they could get to that they thought they could sell. My problem with this was two fold: a. That's not B2B sales. Let's be realistic. That's retail sales, but doing it in someones place of work v. their home. That's really the only difference. b. they never really asked permission to talk to anyone's employees. Which really isn't professional at all. I was very embarrassed to be involved in it even for a minute. They asked me to talk up the potential clients because they wanted to see how my people skills were and to see if I could build rapport. I can...very well even, if I'm wanted there and if I'm actually selling a service that can help someone or a service they desire. This was more finding what might be weak targets that don't like their cell phones / carriers and giving them a hard sales tactic, while they are on the clock on someone elses dime, until they submit and sign a new agreement. Which more than 1 person did. But they collected SS #'s and other standard personal info that you have to produce when you sign a cell phone agreement. Or most contracts for that matter. But getting that info in that fashion really reaches into some gray area of morality with me. But that's just my opinion.

That is exactly how that 2nd interview goes, and what the job details. No one will be able to dispute what is written above.

But let me say that to say this:

Is what they're doing illegal? No, I doubt that it is.

Is what they're doing immoral? I certainly believe it is. But I guess some people's morals are different from others.

Is this a scam to the interviewer? I sincerely doubt they tried to scam me. I think they either asked me back for an "interview" like that to either get a free day of work from me, or to see if I could really do it. They were up front with me regarding not getting paid for the day and that it would be an all day thing. So that was honest. The pay was not anywhere near $500 + commission to start though, so that was misleading. The pay I was told was either 100% commission of $70 per phone line sold, or a base + but they wouldn't tell me what it was. The paper work they gave me had an average that entry level people make. Which means nothing to me. Giving me someone else's average earnings is b.s. However it did say that someone in middle management could expect to make $700 per week. But if you're getting $70 per line, and are expected to sell 1-2 per day, the numbers don't add up unless you're commission only. I have a hard time believing someone entry level is getting $500 guaranteed + commission if middle management is getting the same. I never did get a straight answer on what the actual Base + was. Everyone I asked told me to ask someone else. Also, calling this B2B sales is a big stretch. I've been in real B2B sales for many years and that ain't it. If you ask me it's a dirty version of retail selling. But that's just my opinion, take it for what it's worth. Also they claimed to reimburse gas and mileage for your travel in your vehicle. Whether that's true or not I don't know. I would tend to doubt it since they were not honest on the pay, but I can't prove that.

Is this a scam to the "customers"? You know what?...maybe. I regret that I didn't get any of the peoples personal info so I could follow up with them to find out. But I guess it's possible. I don't think so though. They seemed to be going through official channels to close and verify the sales that they got. I wouldn't think that if they were just after personal info they would go through that. But if they were really trying to sell phone lines why wouldn't they work the phones a little, get appointments with decision makers and spend their time going after the big $'s? I mean, if you're going to get $70 per line why would you spend 2 hours selling one line on the spot with a hard press tactic when with a little REAL sales work you might be able to land a 45 line account ? Not only do they not do this, but I mentioned it and they completely blew that suggestion off...? You can draw your own conclusions, I don't know the answer but I have a feeling what it is.

But then again????? Who knows anymore.

I'm not writing this to bad mouth PSI Marketing. From everything I saw this is a legitimate operation. The people there all seemed really nice. The people in the office are professional and evidently good at what they do. The Sales people I met were decent people from what I could tell. I just don't think they see anything wrong with what they're doing. But they didn't strike me as bad people. Maybe they are just in a position where they need money bad enough that they think this is ok? Not sure. I will say that I would not be surprised if there was something deeper going on though. There were alot of really suspect aspects to the sales. Also they have only been around since April of 2010 according to the public records, so maybe they are still flying under the radar. Not sure. I'm saying that there very well maybe something there as far as a scam goes, but then again I spent a day with them and didn't see anything blatantly illegal.

I on the other hand definitely see something wrong with how they are marketing the product. Cornering people that are alone in an office where they can't just close the door, or hang up, and just pounding them no matter how many times they say they aren't interested is Bush League in my humble opinion.

I just want the people that google this company because they are slated for a 2nd interview to know what the job really is before they waste a whole day on it, if it's not what they want to do. If this is something you think you would like, then by all means do it. But PSI should tell you what you're going to be doing. This type of sales isn't for everyone, and it definitely was not for me.

Just if you read this and decide this is what you want to do, I hope you don't come to my office. :) You'll get the door quick.

Thank you for your detailed and honest summary of the interview process. I was supposed to go in for a second interview tomorrow. However, after asking some simple questions that went unanswered, and reading your comments, I will NOT be going back. I appreciate you taking the time and submitting your experience with PSI. Thanks again !

If it is such a bad place to work how come they just opened a new office in California? I mean come on if you were not able to do the job you should not be telling other people that is a bad place to work for... I'm just saying.

I don't wanna write anything long and drag my experience with PSI out. I made Lead Account Exective in my first week. All the people there are cool and fun to hangout with. But they draw their interviews and customers in with lies. The "don't expect a check for 4wks" comment is 100% true! The $500 to $600+commission pay rate PSI tells you is a lie, you only get $70 per line + whatever you sold the phone for! But keep in mind this only applies to you if the transaction goes through, if your customer cancels on you or credit card declines then you get $0 for that sale! My advance is don't waste your time working this company, if they couldnt be up front and honest with me their employee, then I know they aren't being honest with their customers. So stay away keep looking for something betterand you find it! But stay away from PSI!

Wow thanks for all of the advice. Sounds like the typical door to door sales garbage. Like those 5000.00 vacuums.

Great post; thanks. I interviewed with companies that do the same. I did the first interview, and when asked to come the following day for a full day hands on interview without pay, I said "Forget ABout It'. If you are an experience sales person, you would smell it from a mile away. This smells bad. An interview should be straight forward, clear and should leave you with no questions. It is not reasonable to have someone in an office and have him/her play employee without compensation. I learned from my dad, that you never buy a pair shoes that do not fit well on the first day you try them, and hope you grow into them; they will grow into you and change you. A full day of work as part of an interview, and without pay: WOW!!! If you are willing to do that, you just dropped your pants and showed your desperation, or at least that is the interpretation they will give to your willingness to work for free. Not been clear, been misleading with prospects and applicants and omitting relevant facts as part of an attempt to get them to do or accept something that otherwise they would not accept, makes it a scam at best; I would categorize it as Fraud. A Scam is to misrepresent the truth for self-gain. The fact that other offices are opening, does not mean much. Madoff was very successful recruiting victims and opening new chapters everywhere. The setting and activities of companies may work for individuals like Kir, because it may be part of their nature and ethics as a business individual. If your conscience makes you doubt, then run for your life and that of others. That is what I am doing. I was due to interview in three days. Thanks for the posts.

I worked for the company for a month and honestly I can't find the reason why I did. Maybe coz I desperately needed a job. It was the WORST job experience I've ever had in my life!!! I felt like a slave working at least 10hrs a day and walking around bussiness to bussiness being rejected and not making any money. I'd rather work every night and weekend than be an "account manager" for PSI.

you know whats funny?? These comments defending this company are posted on every website that claims this company is a scam. Copy, paste, and change the name at the bottom...I'd say, scam...sorry...

Psi marketing is a scam they lie to you on your 1st interview and like the other people posted the second interview is basically working for them for free from 8:30 till 6:30. I told the to screw themselves on my second interview at about 10:30 am especially when on my first interview the person that interviewed me told me we deal with fortune 500 clients and after i saw what was going on the 2nd day of interview " free day of work " I quit !! I did not quit because i couldn't do the job, I quit because i was lied to in the interview and i don't like to lie to people just so i can make a buck, so in my opinion PSI MARKETING is just a soliciting job and people be careful don't give out your info to just anybody especially if they say they work for t-mobile and don't have the credentials to prove it. Also I must add that they do not do any back ground checks so any one can get a job there that is why I advise you guys about giving out your info because they can hire a person who has been convicted of credit card fraud etc.. and can get your information so please be careful with your information.
