I have been looking into setting up a website for a while and last month was called by Profit Sense Innovation about letting them build an affiliate website for me. The person on the phone had me look at three websites he said they built. He told me how much money they were making and what commission rate I would get with them. It all sounded good to me but i didn't have the money for the top of the line site. So he offered me a less expensive program. I was not shown what that one would look like nor was I told it would be different. I was told I would get a smaller commission because they would be doing all the work and getting the traffic. With the more expensive site it would be built but I would be responsible for my own traffic but the commission rate was much higher. Since I don't know about coding or things needed to get traffic it sounded like a good deal. I signed up. It was about a week to ten days before the website went online. It was not what I had been shown. It was a blog and a bad one at that. I called to complain and was told that I would never have been show those websites. They insisted I would have been shown one that looked like what I got. I told them I would never have paid for that one. I was then told if I called support they would help me fix it. I left a message with the support team and never got called back. When I finally did get hold of someone today I just wanted my money back because they didn't live up to their end of the agreement. I was transferred to the cancellation department where I got a woman with an attitude. I told her that I did not get what I was promised and I wanted a refund. I was told the agreement said no refunds. If I had gotten what I was told I was getting and only changed my mind I would agree with that. But I was not given the website I was promised. In addition I was told that the only thing she could do was to cancel the $29.95 hosting fee I was not told about. I was told the only thing I would have to pay was the build cost. The salesman said they didn't get any money until I started making money. I was left with the impression that it was a split commission situation. If I had done what I usually do and checked the Better Business Bureau I would have saved myself money and frustration. When I did check with them I found they have an "F" rating. In all the years I have use BBB to check on businesses I have never seen an "F" before. Be aware, don't do a stupid thing like I did. |
