We opened a bakery business in 2007. We looked into numerous POS systems and vendors and found a software that we liked provided by Curt Hollis of Pro-POS. He demonstrated the system at a reputable restaurant in CO Springs and we felt we could trust him. Big Mistake! He communicated frequently by email and offered a financing option through a lease company to help differ costs. We were promised two new POS systems and the POS software. What was delivered was 2 used systems and no POS software! After the initial visits and lease signing, we did not see Curt until the night before opening our business. He quickly installed the POS system and left. He promised to be there all day during our opening but was nowhere to be found. Cables connecting our cash drawer to our computer were missing and after two days of sales, our software stopped working. We found out that Curt had installed a demo version from a different bakery and that we had no licensed pos software. Were were promised $7000 worth of new equipment and only received $3000 worth of used equipment. We had to purchase a software license for $1500, we were stuck in a lease for $9600 and now, at the end of the lease, we have to either send back our equipment or purchase it for over $1000. None of the equipment matches serial numbers held by the leasing company and we are now unsure of how to resolve this issue since the leasing company assumes all equipment promised was delivered. We never signed for the equipment because our vendor, Curt, had supposedly received the equipment 2 months prior to our opening. We did sign the lease that contained generic information for 2 pos systems. Curt Hollis disconnected his phone and was unable to be reached shortly after our grand openinging. I sent numberous emails requesting reimbursement for items not delivered which he never replied back. Since opening, one touch screen and one computer have stopped working. According to the lease company we are responisble for this equipment as well. I did get in contact with Curt using an old phone number about one and a half years later and asked for a new touch screen plus our software reimbursement. He muttled a few words then was gone again. Could not be reached anymore. Curt Hollis bilked us for at least $5000 and multiple hours of time and frustration. I recommend avoiding this man at all costs. He impresses with a good product but does not deliver on equipment, training, and customer service. I wish I had read other reports before choosing him to provide our POS system. He is a major crook and callous man. |
