These guys "Price Pros" are an internet retailer of just about anything from housewares to automotive but focus on misc. electronics. They're a relatively small company of only 20 or so employees and have been in business approx 5 yrs. They are affiliated with Amazon.com were it appears they do most of their business and BEWARE they are practicing illegal fraudulent sales tactics. I have filed a complaint against them with the National Fraud Information Center and if you have been ripped off by them you should do the same @ http://www.fraud.org/info/contactnfic.htm An online investigative service into Internet Companies accused of misrepresentation and fraud and are a division of the FBI. scam It is my belief, "Price Pros" are guilty of repeatedly offering for sale products they do not have in stock or Bait and Switch in order to bring in higher than normal revenue. How their scam goes is Selling/listing items they don't have in stock then sending an incorrect lesser value item in its place. After the customer contacts them, they claim the item is out of stock or the listing/description was wrong due to an IT upload problem or something else absurd so they must cancel the order since they have no stock to reship(convenient). Since they sent you something (incorrect item or incorrect quantity) they're able to hold up the refund because the incorrect item they shipped must be returned in order to receive a refund. (Can you see how this scam goes, they got your money and tie it up with an incorrect item shipment) Of course it can't be returned unless they provide a return label and return authorization number which they refuse to provide or deliberately drag their feet. All along they have your money tied up for their use until they decide to release it I've read their recent reviews on Amazon and there appears to be a rash of negative reviews all of a sudden complaining of the same problem, bait and switch. This scam may have worked for a long time except they have used it on one two many products and customers in a short period of time. Offering/listing products at a exceptional price to draw activity then after collecting funds send incorrect item to buyer. The item they send is worth much less than the item or items listed & purchased or they just send 1 when you paid for 6. Then they take as long as possible to send a return authorization and return label and will use every conceivable reason to explain why you haven't received it. I.e..claiming it was sent but lost in mail or there was a problem with your e-mail(even though all other previous e-mail correspondence between Price Pro's and buyers had been received without problem) Just the return label couldn't make it, sound familiar to you? They will then offer to re-mail the return label thru US postal prolonging the process even longer. This appears to be their common excuse for the delay of sending the buyer a return shipping label and their remedy of the same. Thus prolonging process of buyers right to refund. This slow processing is common for all their refunds including the ones where customers are just not satisfied. They apparently move large volumes of product so this problem isnt so apparent in their reviews quarterly percentages but if investigated over a 30 day period it is most apparent. This practice equates to a lot of money floating. Customer's money they should have never collected, then taking 30 days or longer to refund. Amazon needs to take a closer look at this company's unethical possibly illegal business practices. They need to read their recent reviews/complaints, they're all about this same problem. These negative reviews of Bait and Switch appear to be recent but are numerous. So this may be a new practice for them nevertheless one that needs to be stopped immediately. Bottom line the fed's need to investigate this company and shut them down and Amazon needs to remove them from their website while conducting their own investigation before more of their customers are victimized. |
