I went on TripRes.com just to dream a little bit. I am recently divorced and out of work. My birthday is coming up and I thought I would see if there might be any vacation deals I could afford. I just wanted to book something fun. I have $16.00 to my name right now.
I was looking up offers for different hotels in Las Vegas and came across a deal that said $2.00 for 1-7-11 to 1-9-11 and I didn't believe it. I thought about just leaving the page because I thought it was some sort of scam, but, I realized that if I keep asking for good things to happen and don't let them, then I have no reason to be sad in my life.
So, I clicked on it and it was telling me the 3 steps I had to go through. Well, by 12:17 CST it was booked and I had an Itenerary # of 91595617. I freaked out! I was so excited! Literally the best feeling I've had in a loooooong time. I knew I should print it off so I didn't lose the info but don't have a printer. I used their pre-made form and picked their option to get a confirmation email.
A few minutes later, I had an email that said, "Dear Christopher: As per your conversation with our reservation agent, we have voided your itinerary. Thank you. The TripRes.com Staff www.TripRes.com 800-834-2690"
I obviously said no such thing so I called to find out what was going on... That was about 12:30 CST and it is now 5:53 CST. I have left message after message, sent email after email and talked to every agent/supervisor and manager. I am obviously upset but feel like I handled myself well in the situation. All I heard was, "Sorry, it was an 'electronic error' and there is nothing we can do. We are not going to fix it by paying for the room so you need to stop calling." They weren't even willing to work with me on anything in my situation. No options. I was only made to feel like an idiot because I hadn't seen this hotel in movies before. And to top it all off after being hung up on several times, an agent that I believe I spoke with a few times started taunting me saying, "Oh poor baby, waaaa, waaaaa, little baby didn't get his room at the Bellagio. Awwwwe. So sad..." And finally hung up. I asked several times to speak to someone who cared about their customers and making sure they are taken care of.
Nothing. I am very frustrated, disappointed and wish that I hadn't wasted my time. I feel like I was not heard at all and I will do everything I can to make sure that I am the best advertisement, making sure that everyone I ever come in contact with does not go through tripres.com or its parent company Prestige Travel Inc.
I'll end with some info off of the website...
"We have developed into one of the largest travel companies in the United States and have garnered numerous travel trade awards for our leadership and productivity. Las Vegas has recognized us as one of the leading businesses in the state of Nevada."
"With the company's "Yes, I Can" attitude, TripRes.com will do whatever is possible to make your Las Vegas vacation an exceptional experience."
Ha. Thanks for the "exceptional experience".
