Beware of Premier Image Agency in Denver, CO. and it's members. The experience I was subjected to included harassment, humiliation, abuse, defamation, dishonesty (including lying to the police I called to their office), and disability discrimination. I called the Denver police department to their location in Denver to make a report about what I was subjected to. And, for assistance in going into their office to demand that my personal information be removed in our presence from their website and database. I have worked as a promotional model for many agencies around the country for 6 years. Those jobs all prevailed in my generating publicity and financial gain for all companies I have represented. Additionally, I have over 10 years work history as talent as well as a Casting Director on over 50 tv shows/movies. This work prevailed in my abundant experience, involvment, interactions, and relations with thousands of people in the industry. I have interacted with almost every talent agency in Los Angeles during casting processes. The point being that I know much about what professionalism is or high standards or behaviors in this business. And, they do not have professionalism rather are some of the most obnoxious, rude, and unethical people I have ever experienced. I registered on this agencies website to create a profile and potentially be booked on some promotional assignments. I received a welcome letter inviting me to join their promotional department and to attend a meeting/orientation. Upon creating the application and profile on their site I had provided information about a current medical problem and disability I am undergoing at this time. And, also wrote that although I currently was having some physical struggles with my back and my voice/vocal chords that I would still like to apply in hopes of getting work once I had recovered from my injuries. This was all noted in a section of their application called "anything else we should know about you." I am in medical treatment and process this problem and current disability. And, awaiting test results about it which were faciliated by doctors recently. A completely legitimate issue. When I speak it causes me pain and my voice is going in and out of proper usage. For this reason I was considering not attending the meeting/orientation. I decided that since I had sent an rsvp that I would go to their office anyhow and try to speak with them briefly during that scheduled meeting time to explain my situation. I was planning to let them know that at this time I am still in recovery and that in the meantime I still wanted to know them for future assignments. I did not even get a chance to properly speak with anyone about this as planned when I arrived there. Rather when I arrived the girl at the front desk asked me if I was there for my interview and asked for my drivers license to make a copy. She did and then pointed to the upstairs of their office and told me to go upstairs. When I arrived upstairs I find a room full of people with a man sitting in front of them speaking. I almost turned around to go walk back downstairs to explain to them what I had gone their to communicate with them about but I felt awkward because the people there were looking at me. And, so I just went to the very back row and sat down. To my total disbelief as well as humiliation the guy at the desk speaking stops everything and puts all attention of the entire audience on me rudely asking why I was late? (I never intended to join a group of people nor do anything but use my interview time to say hello and explain what I had listed in my application that I am looking for future work when I recover). Granted that my interview time was at 1:00pm it was "technically" late because it was just a FEW minutes after 1pm. I had been planning upon meeting with them to explain my medical situation. And, to communicate that I had decided not to interview but wanted to take the opportunity to say hello for a future interview upon my recovery for assignments. This totally obnoxious and rude guy now has an entire audience interupted and will all focus on me. My voice is going in and out of sound and strenght. But the main issue is that because of my back/neck/spine injuries when I speak loud or emphasize my voice it is sending a shooting pain down my back. This is what I am currently under medical care for and getting tests for. I tried to use my hands towards my mouth and throat to try to communicate that I can't speak or not that loud to him so far away. He very rudely as well as sarcastically sais "what you can't talk?" and then also rudely sais "what were you at the doctors office or something." He was asking all these things in a very degrading, sarcastic, and rude way. Then again harassing me in front of everyone saying well why are you late. I was so humiliated and upset and did not know what to do or even say. Then while I am sitting there humiliated and almost in tears not know what to even say to such a rude and humiliating thing being done to me regarding my disability the guy obnoxiously yells at me and sais "you can get out of here you can leave." I didn't even know what to say. I said why how rude I was going to speak to someone about my situation after and did not want to interupt. And, in response to this nasty man sais "well you did interupt by showing up late now leave." I said "is there a manager or owner here to speak with." He sais "ya that's me now please leave." I went downstairs to ask the girl at front desk who the owner or manager is so I can speak with them about this. Another woman walks up to me and I asked her if she knew if the owner was around. She said "that's me." I began to try to explain to her about the entire situation but could not even get that far. She starts to tell me off about being late and insulting me. Then I said this is very unprofessional and rude and that I wanted my money back for my travel expense. She rudely and in a very snide way makes fun of me saying "oh what you want $2 back." And, I said "yes I do and I am a long term spokesmodel and have never experienced anything like this." Again, I was going to try to explain to her about how I never even intended to have an interview, not to mention not plan to be sent into some room with a group of people, and about what I had stopped by to let them know. But I never could because after I told her that it was very unprofessional and wrongful the way they had just treated me she tells me I can leave. I told her I was going to call the police there and make a report about them. And, she sais (sarcastically) "what about your $2." First of all, if someone showing up late was going to be an unwelcomed interuption or disruption than why did the girl downstairs even send me up there to that group? If it was going to be such a problem she should have told me right away when I stepped up to the reception desk. Secondly, professional and very ethical agencies and managers would not interupt a group like that themselves nor put someone on the spot speaking to them like a 6 year old and humiliating them in front of a group of total strangers in public. A professional person would have waited until after that group meeting was over and personally one on one asked me afterwards if I wouldn't mind speaking about my situation with my voice and/or why I arrived late? Had he properly done that professionally I would have been able to explain at that time that I never even intended to have the interview not to mention join some group meeting. And, would have been able to explain that I thought the girl was sending me to a personal meeting at which time I was going to explain that I wanted to reschedule my interview for a time when my voice/back and everything were up to par so that I could start to receive work/assignments. I never got this chance to explain that to anyone because of their harsh, humiliating, rude, unprofessional, degrading, and discriminatory conduct and actions. I called the police to make a report of record (so I can use it to provide to the Attorney Generals office as well). And, to assist me in going back into their office to demand a purging of my personal information, application, and pictures from their computers/website. When the police and I went in we could not even ask this request before being interupted by the embittered nasty behaving so-called owner as she lied to the officer telling him that they never had even invited me in for an interview. I looked at him and shook my head and said that was not true. And, that they had indeed taken my drivers license copy and sent me upstairs for an interview (and pointed to where they sent me). The officer told them I wanted my information deleted. And, the owner first sais "we don't have any of her personal information." I told him that was a lie and that I had filled out an entire application online. Totally ridiculous. She had just said to the owner to his face that they did not have any information on file or their website about me. And, within 3 seconds the rude guy from upstairs sais "oh, you mean your profile online." (duh, ya the one with many of my personal details, social security number, client information, photos...ya that one) With the officer standing by the rude guy from upstairs gestures to walk over to their computer. He points to items on his screen and sais that he is deleting all my information. I certainly hope that he really did (and from their harddrive as well). I intend on speaking with an attorney and filing a claim in court in Denver against them. This was an outright disability discrimination and harassment in which I was harassed and humiated by them about my current physical disability. And, in front of a group of members of the public I don't even know. In my almost 20 years in the business between working on Broadway to working at all (yes, pretty much every single movie studio in Hollywood) the studios in Hollywood I have learned about those two types of personalities. I certainly can't prove anything but my experience with anyone with that type of personality at any agency having to do with talent scouting is that guys like that are usually the ones on extreme ego trips, think they are these very important and powerful people. And, this disposition is usually the same of the guy who has that job so he can take advantage when and if possible of models. The nasty embittered rude woman who claimed to own the agency is another personality type I have seen as well. Typically I have found that someone like that is the bitter agency woman who deals with gorgeous woman all the time. And, really is inside a very bitter and jealous abusive woman. Who takes it out on various people now and then when it bursts out. All I meant to do was go there and speak with them to indicate that I appreciated the interview offer and wanted to say hello and reschedule. Reschedule to when I could talk in full and without pain and be ready the next day for work. Which I am not right now for this type of work because of my back/voice problems. After all I am a spokesmodel and want to meet with them when I would be able to take work if they sent me out the next day after an interview. I never got to have that conversation because they sent me into a room with a group of people and then utterly humiliated me in front of all of them. Beware. In my experience people like this are the same ones who pull scams, try to have sexual relationships with clients/models, are late to pay talent, are rude to people constantly via their false sense of self-importance. I have conducted numerous large group/small group seminars/workshops about my experiences in the entertainment business and promotional modeling business. People have sent me thank you notes as well as approached me after these workshops to thank me for how much they learned. You could not pay me to humiliate and degrade someone like that in front of an entire group of people. First of all, I am experienced and kind enough to understand that if someone was late they probably did have something going on. And, if I even cared at all I would certainly have asked them afterwards. And, I certainly would not harass a person who had just told me that they are having pain when they speak to speak anyway worse to speak up. This organization claims they are a "world leader." They are not a leader in anything but how to treat people in the rudest and most degrading unethical way possible. You can book all your own work online through hundreds of other agencies anyway without even ever having to meet with anyone. I just thought if they claimed to have something good going on that maybe they did. But they do not have anything but being inexperienced, rude, harassing, and unprofessional going on. Beware. |
