Pikes Peak Marathon Matt Carpenter Rudeness and unwillingness to work with Service Members Manitou Springs, Colorado

After paying $220.00 for a Pikes Peak Doubler, we were informed the registration was pulled for one of the two races. The reason provided was that the qualifying time was too fast. Because we have very limited time working in the service to work through registrations it was surprising for us to find out about someone being pulled from a race who wanted to go slower in the second race on Pikes Peak than the one the day prior... We attempted to work with Matt Carpenter (the registrar) and were met with RUDE E-mails by someone who is obviously an elitist and has no concept of what our Military Services members go through on extensive shift hours and deployments. It is far more disconcerting that even when a suggestion was made to push the money toward another of the Triple Crown Series run, that request was denied... again with a rude and condescending tone. Since we do not want to lose out on another $100 we will run one of the races but after this year, we NEVER intend on running a Pikes Peak Marathon or Triple Crown Series event.... No concern for military service members is apalling and if someone was willing to pay good and hard earned money to be in a secondary wave or Field of the race, Matt and his entourage should allow this or at least work with the individual. Tell me when running for the love of running became impossible with this group... Would love to know how it got this way. Something tells me Phidippides would not have treated his fellow runners this way as they were all concerned with supporting their nation.
