I was having a rough time in my life and foolishly drank to much vodka over several days and went to the hospital ER cause I felt sick and was dehydrated and having anxiety through the roof, from the E.R I was transported to "Fort Lauderdale Hospital" . That is how I met "Dr" Peter Ventre of Fort Lauderdale .
Behind the locked doors of this 'hospital' I am labelled with some "psychiatric disease" using not a single test test known to medical science that showed I have any "disease" but I am ordered anyway to take 800mg of Seroquel (the highest dose stated per day in the PDR) , the highest dose of some epilepsy drug mood stabilizer called Trileptal that also has a long list of horrible side effects and then withdrawal reactions if I was ever to stop taking it ! as well and the chemical restraint "Haldol", plus this stuff called Cogentin to control the involuntary muscle contraction side effects from the drug overdose he prescribed.
All these drugs have the side effect of "lowered life expectancy".
I told the nurse mabey a little something to sleep like 25mg Seroquel , I know what that stuff is, but I'm here cause I got sick from drinking like a fool. The next day when I met with this doctor he actually told me I would be injected by force with drugs if I was not "medication compliant" . For real he said that I would be basically drug raped if I didn't swallow what I know was enough medication to make me really sick and feel really bad and knocked out and I believe due to my lack of tolerance to these kinds of drugs could have been fatal. None of these drugs were for alcohol detoxification or any medical condition.
I think his ego got hurt when I questioned his prescriptions.
I objected to these "medications" I didn't want or need and I objected to these threats of a forced injection of drugs and asked for medical tests that show I am "ill", but that's not on my medical records instead they just state my "speech is rapid" and I was placed on "assault precautions" for my reaction (rapid speech) to the threats of violence from this so called doctor.
Peter Ventre also lied on my medical records and stated I was suicidal I guess to somehow justify his abuse and extend my stay and make money for this wretched hospital and to protect himself from a lawsuit. I was never suicidal. I went to the hospital voluntarily as well.
This doctor is criminal, he abuses patients with medication behind locked doors for profit. He did it to me and I saw what he was doing to others. This guy missed the lesson at med school "At first do no harm" , that's for sure. Most patients were walking around drugged , apathetic and indifferent to their surroundings and I did not care to join them.
Thankfully I have recovered and do not drink alcohol or take any psychiatric drugs that this so called "doctor" said I "needed".
Families please find your loved ones another doctor and call a lawyer if they complain of medication abuse by this Peter Ventre or abuse by staff at Fort Lauderdale Hospital.
