Peter Bosen Tried to extort money from me Farmington, New Hampshire

Peter Bosen has tried to blackmail me into sending him money with the threat that he would ruin my reputation if I didn't comply. He implies that I have stolen awatch that he sent to me for repair and restoration. He simply says that he never got it back leading others to believe that I never sent it back to him.

In fact the restored watch was mailed back to Bosen by insured Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation On July 9th and I have the Postal Receipt, the Insurance Receipt and the Delivery Confirmation receipt as proof. I sent Mr. Bosen the tracking number andwhen he checked he found that the watch was received at the sorting facility inFarmington, NH on July 10th and was to be delivered that same day. Whenthe watch didn't arrive as expected, Bosen checked with his local PO and they tracked the watch to Mr. Bosen's mailbox on the 10th, but found that the mailman had left the package without getting a signature. Bosen then asserted that the watch must have been stolen from his mailbox and he instructed me to file an insurance claim on his behalf. I did so and sent all the relevant documents required by the USPS. Mr. Bosen's claim was at first denied, but after several appeals he eventually received $800 from the USPS. I've been informed that the USPS originally denied Mr. Bosen's claim because they don't believe that the package was actually stolen from his mailbox. It seems that after Bosen's second appeal they paid the claim rather than get involved in a prolonged fight with this individual. Up until this point our contacts had been cordial but after receiving the USPS payment he sent me an angry, rambling message demandingan additional $700 from me under the threat of this and other kinds of retaliation.I refused and now I expect that I'll be kept very busy with the task of undoing his damage for quite some time. This was the very first insurance claim for a lost or even a damaged watch that I have had to file for a customer during the last 13 years.
