Paypal, Lakeside Trader |
Paypal shipped to old address I had deleted, seller refuses to take any responsibility |

Ordered a $125 item through Lakeside Trader who will only accept paypal for some reason. I log into my account, add my new address and send the money. A week goes by so I email Lakeside, 2 weeks another email, 3 weeks another with no response. I finally find him on a message board he visits every day where he gives me the tracking # from 3 weeks ago. USPS tracking says "delivered", even though it's an abandoned construction site now (my old address I opened the paypal account with and had deleted). USPS won't take responsibility (driver claims it was an envelope put in the mailbox), the seller blames me saying I sent him the wrong address. Paypal on the phone says I must have clicked on the old address, and told me NOT to file a claim because I'll lose. I remember entering in the new one for the shipment. Now I'm out $125 and nothing to show for it. Lakeside does not send items insured, or require signature for delivery - you'd have to ask him for that before purchase even though shipping is already at $30 for a 1-2 pound item. He offered to give a discount on next purchase, and then retracted that offer 2 mintues later through emai, saying "truly I must take responsibility". You'd think the seller would want to check your address as a first time buyer (and I told him I was), or at LEAST answer emails. Now he is back to not responding to emails again. I'll never use paypal or Lakeside Trader again. |

I was a bit too hasty here to file this report, now I can't delete it. Seller made an excellent financial compromise for me. I apologize if he sees this, and anyone else who's thinking of dealing with him, this guy really went out of his way to make me feel like I didn't get totally screwed, even though the blame lies in part with me, and none with him. I apologize - I was VERY upset when I wrote this. Still, double-check your paypal addresses to see if there are more than one, and even if there is only one, still double-check via email before selling/buying to keep this BS from happening to you... |

Well, I've asked that this complaint be deleted twice, and no response. Anyone who has a question about Lakeside Traders' honesty can ask me or anyone who's dealt with him once. Re-reading this post really makes me look like a first class jerkoff. I got taken from a different seller earlier that month - got pissed and posted this before the issue was resolved. |
