Payday Loan America Spoke to Jimmy Walker and Sam Brown Loan Approval Scam New York City, New York |
30th of Jan, 2013 by User578228 |
On January 30, 2013; my husband was contacted and told that he had been approved for up to $20,000. He only wanted $5,000 at first and was told that he would have to pay 1 month security deposit of $285 because of his credit score and that it would then be direct deposited within 1 hour. After we talked, I asked what the price would be if we took a $10,000 loan to consolidate our credit card debt into one payment. He called them back and was told it would be ok and he would be paying $390 over a 36-month period. We agreed and my husband was then transferred to the "supervisor" to verify everything. He was then told that he had to get a Vanilla Gift Card for the $390 and then call back and provide security deposit payment in this manner. Once he did that, they all of a sudden told him that because of the red flags on his credit score, he would need to pay $560 to get those removed and get his credit score up. At that point, they said that did not raise his credit score enough, so another $140 was going to be needed before the deposit could happen. They called him and provided him with a loan approval number that supposedly guaranteed him the loan once he made 1 month security payment. They also had all of his information to include bank account information that he never provided them. When I got off of work and he told me about the days events that didn't add up, I came straight home and started to look to see if this was a scam. I have decided that it is and want to help others not get caught up in things like this. Jimmy Walker who sounded indian was the first person to make contact with him using phone number 646-499-5078 and the "supervisor" was Sam Brown. Please BEWARE!!! Do your research ahead of time. They seem to prey on those filling out numerous loan applications with bad credit. |
